Making Original Dvd Drive Firmware Backup?
« on: March 08, 2007, 11:22:00 AM »

As the title states im trying to find out how i will go about making numerous backups of the original Hitachi rom ver59 dvd drive?

I am going to be flashing my xbox360 tomorrow and ive read a few tutorials, most notably hacking 360 for dummies by textbook. However when it covers the Hitachi drives(excluding 78) it fails to give instructions on how to and which commands are required.

I'm presuming here that "Open Command Window Here" powertool which i will be using to install the firmware will also be used for backing up the original firmware?

If i can get a link or some advice i will be all ready to commence without fear of mucking it up:)

Sorry is it just a case of locating the original firmware file on the drive when u connect to your PC through the SATA cable? Then copying it and keeping those copies?

I've had no responses but its ok becasue it seems that the flashing process makes a backup of your existing firmware to the folder your using for the process.
