Wow that is quality material smile.gif .

so no need to encrypt prior to  the key and flash ID command.

also if you already have it flashed to 2.3s could we do the following?
Key/Legend
78FK Related = Firmware, Drive, New Motherboard
47DH Related = Current v47 Firmware , Drive, Old Motherboard = now.bin of last flash.
Follow the same tutorial without restoring at the start and without the Flash With GaryOpa'a V2.3 R2 in the middle?

Yep, only threw that in there because I thought he had already Restored his drive. I personally always Flash the with "hacked firmware" anytime BEFORE I flash the Spoof Data to avoid any confusion the Hacked Firmware Flasher may experience.

For future updates, I am assuming:
Start with  Current Firmware,
Spoof Firmware, Tools >> Spoof Firmware
Click, Hitachi GDR3120L ROM 0047 >> Apply Spoof
Flash Spoof Data, Tools >> Direct Drive Flash (GDR Only) >> Flash String ID (Spoof Data)
Choose Drive and the flasher, Then Click "Start Flashing"
You get your drive back as a V47 flashed drive, do the update as any v47.
reapply the spoof to v78 as per instruction above.

thanks

Haven't had to update a spoofed drive yet, but I'd assume it would be best to:
-Undo the Spoof: Tools >> Spoof Firmware >> Original Settings (Undo-Spoof) >> Apply Spoof
-Restore the drive
-Proceed with flashing any update.
Then you would spoof the firmware as above.

I only say to do this to try to avoid the flasher possibly confusing the firmware with another version, although I am not sure how the checks work.

Hmm. 1 question.

Does the toolbox work with USB adaptors? I reliase it cant flash 78FK's with the USB adaptors. But will it work with other rom versions for simple key replacements and spoofing firmware?

Yep, Would work as long as the Drive is detected in windows. But remember you need to have an Original Game or Movie in the drive to flash.

No. You need to contact someone who can use an external programmer to extract the key from the bricked drive.

Either that or buy a new motherboard (which comes with the key - pretty much all done on Ebay) and also buy a new drive to put the key you are given on to. Pricey...

hi i have bought a new motherboard because mine had the dreaded 3 lights

i have a hacked HITACHI LG GDR-3120L 0046dh

my new mother board is for HITACHI LG GDR-3120L 78FK PAL

im not 100% sure how to make my old drive work with my new motherboard

i have searched for tutorials but i still dont have many answers

heres what i think i have to do. revert my drive back to the original firmware

inject the new mobo key. then flash the firmware to play backups

i can flash the drive no problem i have done this before. im just not sure how to inject and make it work with my new mother board

please can someone provide some assistance, as i dont want to brick my box

does your v46 already has the firmware version you want to keep on it, or you must change it?
if you already heve the firmware you want see post number 15 above.
if not restore and go to post number 12.

and you obviously have the key that goes with the new MB?

yes, just write the key (step 2-9)
and then write the  new id (V78) in your V46 Drive (step 11-14)

it is the tutorial above without step 1 and 10.

Note for future upgrade, it will be important you first unspoof your v46 (return it as v46) before you upgrade the firmware. That is needed because v78 does not have the key in the same location as v46. After the upgrade you will need to respoof it to v78.

2.3 stealth is the latest,

suggest you make a copy of your last hacked FW (now.bin), and call it spoof.
The enter the key , and flash the key.
then the spoof ID in flash the ID.
note it is not the entire firmware that will be reflashed, just those segment.

OK Question.

I used samtool to modify my original hitachi firmware to xtreme53D firmware for samsung.

when i run this firmware through the firmware 3.0 toolbox the key displayed doesn't match and the letters saying hitachi firmware seem to be all corrupted.  Is this normal?

I decided to just do it with the 3.0 toolbox instead of samtool cause of this.
