4.6 toolbox doesnt allow soft flash/dump of 79 , passkey is still needed. maybe directdump will be implemented for 79 in a later version, but still passkey needed, along with epoxy removal.

Whats the best way to get the resin off I did not risk using my heat gun I just used a 40 W soldering iron which did not do a very clean job.

What would be the best way to do this, now that i have broken "A,H and I" Pads could I use the thin cable plus my own wire for A,H and I pads?

Wow man, you really did a number on those leads!!!! ok will here is the facts......you might be able to repair this still. what you need to do is use a heat gun this time, and remove the rest of the epoxy, then you will have to solder to the leads or very carefully take off the protection layer of the traces, so you can see the brass.....solder on those leads. I used the heat gun and it came out untouched....but be careful......but here is the real problem.....those leads you ripped/broke might have just ruined your drive! if it is a multi layer circuit then it is possible that those leads are traveling to a nother point in the circuit.....very possible. hopefully you can still get your key, then you will probly have to install it on a diffrent drive.....goodluck.

You havn't stuffed your drive yet those traces go to nothing apart from test points (looks like they were going to put in a bigger nand chip?)
its not multi layered
just remove the rest of the glue with heat gun. NOT A SOLDERING IRON!!!

I have the 79fk, modded with ixtreme1.2 with the passkey method.  I want to update it to the ixtreme1.51.  Do I still need to use the passkey method?  I'm assuming so.

No, you can now use Podgers 79unlock - a soft unlock.
