Unplayable Disc On Originals & Backups
« on: February 08, 2007, 08:22:00 PM »

Good Evening All, This afternoon when I fired up the box for my 3 year old with our backup of Viva pinata I got a number of clicks and then the Unplayable Disc Error. It was working fine last night and we have had no unusual events since then. I also tried my original and got the same error. No Red Circles or eror codes of any kind....just the "Unplayable Disc" error.
I am running a Hitachi 47DJ flashed with OPA - Xtreme v2.1 firmware
Verbatim Discs Burned @ 2.4 using IMGBURN on a Pioneer 111D flashed to 1.29

The discs are clean and I have since tried originals of Fuzion Frenzy 2 and Kameo with the same results
"Unplayable Disc"

Any suggestions? The three year old is worried about his garden...... =)
Thanks in Advance

Nope I haven't tried CD's....I will have the wife give that a shot while I am here at work....

I haev not pot Tweaked it and wouldn't have the slightest idea how to do that.....
By "Packed In" , I am assuming you mean it has gone to the Big Lasergraveyard in the Sky? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/uhh.gif)

Just for the sake of conversation....where can one obtain a new laser?

Try watch a dvd movie because that should always work, if it doesn't I guess your dvdrom is broken. Also you could try the game on a friends system to see if it boots there or not.

Nope Tried a Movie Last night ....same thing......

How does the DVDRom Become "Broken"....there were no power surges and the box was not moved or started up since the last time it sucessfully played the discs? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/dry.gif)

like all electrical hardware, it can just go unfortunatly.

that or dust, dirt etc.

Does this apply to the fix maybe?
