Hitachi 47dj Flashed But Disc Unreadable.
« on: February 07, 2007, 06:49:00 PM »

I flashed my Hitachi 47DJ using the 360USB + xecuter connectivity kit.
The firmware that I used was Maximus-Garyopa_XTRM-HITACHI_v2_3_Stealth_Rev2

which worked fine....got the Pass/Done line (told me to shut down)

Backed up my Topspin 2 using a flashed Samsung SH-D162C with Kreon v081 and Xbox Backup Creator v23
The result from the image file were:

Checking Stealth Compatibility
Video is valid
   PFI is present
   DMI is present
   SS is present
Stealth Check Passed!

Then I used my Pioneer 111D BK with 1.23 firmware and Verbatim DVD+R DL burnt at 2.4x

(i assume BK is Black, as my drive is black so there shouldn't be any difference with the 111D)

The log result:
  Initialization complete
   Starting write
   Removing TAG information
   Write complete
   Syncing Cache
   Closing Track
   Finalizing Disk
Getting media info [D]
   Media Type: DVD+R DL
   Bytes Used: Unknown Disk State
   Write completed in 00:38:28

Put the disc into my 360 drive = unreadable disc

can anyone shed some light? should I update the firmware on my pioneer?

I used xbox backup creator, not sure how you check for the layerbreak with this app.

However, just burnt the same image using Clone CD and it worked fine.

Imgburn ftw! Imgburn works really nice for burning and is freeware, so you dont have to hassle with registration or stuff like with cloneCD.

yes but most importantly you must set the layerbreak manually in the settings of imgburn, or else all games burned will be coasters.

next time you give advice, give all the info so that people dont waste money on coasters!! (people rush into things without reading up first!!)
