I'm sure the FW Toolbox 4 developer will hear about this sooner or later, but is there an official contact to let him know?

this might help you all out if your having problems with your benq dumps.

DosFlash and DosFlash32 V1.2 Beta
>> A new version of DosFlash(info) - the dos and windows based TS-H943 and BenQ flasher for xbox360...
What's new/fixed:
* bug fix for BenQ recognition
* manufacturer and device id are sometimes 0x00 for a correct installed switch
* this issue is fixed with an additional ATAPI device reset before the mtk vendor intro is sent
Thanks to Redline99 who fixed my buggy code by adding one line! smile.gif

hellooo Saw that you have firmware your xbox 360 with BenQ.Where did you get Firmware ?

That is incorrect. Those of us who have Benq drives are waiting for the hacked firmware from C4E (Also known as Commadore Forever).... THERE IS NO FIRMWARE (AS OF NOW) THAT IS HACKED. You can not use backups on this drive until the hacked firmware is released. I trust others in this room who say we will be the first to know once it's out.

We can only read and write the original firmware for the sole purpose of extracting the key (Drives are married to motherboard). You need the key in order to use a different drive like Toshiba / Samsung MS-25 or MS-28 with your current 360. These drives can be found on E-Bay for as little as $40.00. These drives are not as quiet as the BenQ, but will work just fine. The MS-25 is a little more expensive because it is easier to flash. It is the most sought after drive due to this reason.

I also seen a the Maximus Hitachi 79 passkey listed on Ebay. Right now, this is the only way to extract and write firmware to the Hitachi drives.

Not to bash you or anything- I am not the expert and no one wrote this much info in one post for me. I had to research everything on my own by doing simple searches in this forum. YES, it was intimidating at first. The interface for searching isn't the greatest. However, at least try. It will become familiar to you.
Trust me- If there is a way to do something, it's listed here. And if it isn't, wait a day or so....it will be

Good luck!!!

ToolBox 4.0 does not support new Firmware VAD6038-64930C sad.gif
do not spoof your hitachi/samsung drive to Benq if you have firmware 64930C, because ToolBox 4.0 only support Benq with Firmware 62430C.
You have to do it with hexedit.

I've just read my FW off my BENQ using Dosflash 32.

I load it up in FWToolbox 4.0 and I get the following:

ROM Version: Benq-VAD6038-62430C
ROM Size: 256kb
Key Information: (@C020)
Key: 00112233445566778899AABBCCDDEEFA

Now I'm pretty sure this isn't really my key!  What am I doing wrong?  Do I just have a bad dump, or does FWToolbox give me the wrong location of the key for this drive?

think i got the cd key and spoof address right, but which parts needed editing on the bat files for flashing back, or is there a simpler way to flash back to a hitachi drive?

Should the firmware from dosflash show up as a bin file on the usb stick after I dump the firmware?  I have dumped the same one twice now and its not showing up as a bin file.  Just says FILE 256kb and its not recognized by FW TB 4.0 at all.

I've never used dosflash, but in MTKFlash you had to type out the name you wanted the file to be extracted as with the extension... ie. orig.bin
Did you put an extension on the end?

Try using dosflash32 - its plain sailing!

following the tutorial linked from a different topic
http://www.yourfileh...torial_v1.2.PDF
I was able to flash the hitachi 47 w/ the benq's key...i think
now, however, when i boot the new xbox w/ the hitachi in, i get a single red flashin light in lower right...but if i only connect the sata wire to the hitachi, the 360 boots fine, it just wont do anything w/ the drive. as soon as i plug the other wire in, red light w/ no video...
is it bricked or recieving too much power or is this just no possible?
