Will My Dvd Drive Stay In Modeb If Power Cycles?

I need to turn the xbox off and unplug it to hook it up to a different PC to dump the firmware and flash the drive. Can I do this? Will it stay in mode b?

No.  Power must stay connected to the DVD drive.

this might be irrelevant, once the drive is flashed with hacked f/w, you can power on with the eject button, pull power cord out of back (so tray stays open), plug power back in and press power button.  drive is now in modeb.
