5.3 is supposedly in the works, no ETA. Iriez stated somewhere in this thread about it and they are working on region free DVD playback for it. NOT TO BE CONFUSED WITH REGION FREE GAME PLAYBACK, YOU WON'T BE ABLE TO PLAY GAMES LOCKED TO ANOTHER REGION CONSOLE, ONLY DVD MOVIES

Sweet. I always have my movies in Region 0. But it could be useful anyway

do we still need to stealth patch games or does the firmware take care of it. not sure if thats what (v3.0   Stealth Media implemented into firmware. Backups now appear exactly as original disk regardless of which disk check command used by Xbox 360). sorry if this was answered else were i could not find.

FW 3.3 doesn't have Firmware Guard (or whatever its called) so if you have MS25 Drive then yes.

hmm, I have board with that as well, I think it automaticlly switches.

Do you have to flash the orig.bin then flash 5.2?
Or
Can you flash 5.2 on top of 3.3?

Just flash 5.2 on top. Remember though, once you have 5.2 you have to enable0800 before you can flash to any other firmware versions (firmguard). The files for your 0800 DVD should be included in your 3.3 version.

So if I want to reflash 5.2 now (my ms25 drive is xtreme 3.3 flashed), are these the following steps to perform?

- hexedit my key from original.bin into the xtreme5.2.bin
- flash with mtkflash using "mtkflash /m xtreme5.2.bin"


is this right? (just making sure, cos it has been awhile..my brains need a refresh)

Its recomended to flash to your original then to 5.2 etc.
Its upto you really. If your short of time then flash straight over
