2 IRIEZ

1: Media brand used       --------- traxdata value(ritek dvd+r) and cdrw maxwell
2: Burner used (and what firmware revision if you can) ---------- nec 3520a 2.u5 wit bitsetting
3: Drive (ms25 or ms28), Console region (PAL or NTSC) and manufacter date please. --------ms25 pal 2005
4: Which firmware you tested with (5.1a, 5.1c etc) -----------------5.2d built as ms28
5: Backup game title, plus region (Halo, PAL or Halo, NTSC)

forza pal + xbefix built with gdfimage and tried moogui+layouts, both works perfectly on 5.2, before with 5.0 i got DDE

puyo pop fever pal + xbefix built with gdfimage and tried with moogui+layouts, both times it freezes with XBOX1 logo on the screen while forza on same cdrw and same dvd+r media work, it dont seem to be reading problem, it looks like xbox emulator freezes.
However it creates puyo pop fever savegame on console, i also tried deleting it, but it didnt help.

NOTE: its just hangs no screens with errors like wrong region etc...

Thanks to xtreme fw team!

I saw 5.2 out last night on my last check before going to sleep. I nabbed it of the usual place and flashed my drive immediatly, had been waiting all day to test it out.

Sunday I had a movie not work (Night at the Roxbury) on 5.1. It currently boots and works fine with 5.2b

Oddly I had some xbox 1 backups I created from the original, all using the same method but burned to different discs not working also.

FTP to D and copy the contents to one folder, then create the XISO with GDFImage and GDFImageGUI

I burned CounterStrike to a Memorex DVD-R 8x disc, with 5.1 FW it made a horrible reading sound as if trying to access the same spot over and over. I had been using Memorex DVD-R and they had been working fine, but this was a new batch. The only difference in the 2 discs is one is 16x and the other is 8x. The 16x discs worked fine on 5.1, none of the 8x discs booted at all, same thing sounding if trying to access the same spot over and over. I was able to burn CounterStrike to my last 16x and it worked on 5.1.

With 5.2b both my 8x and 16x discs read fine. CounterStrike and Ghost Recon both run flawless on the Memorex DVD-R 8x discs.

However I do have 2 that are not working, Ghost Recon 2: 2011 Final Assault and Ghost Recon 2: Summit Strike. With FA it doesn't even boot the disc and with SS it loads the disc but freezes at the first "Ghost Recon" logo screen. These might work on another media or possibly if I use a layout. Not sure, but I'll test some more if I have time tonight.

Lockon seems awesome, it was reading and booting some discs within 3 seconds last night. Very neat.  smile.gif

EDIT: I have also recenty removed the rubberband mod also, but haven't had time to really test and see how well the new FW addresses the open tray error. I had been plagued with "open tray" since the beggining and the only fix that worked 100% was the rubberband mod. Hopefully I'll have time to test that out tonight also.

1: Media brand used --------- Memorex DVD-R 8X and 16X
2: Burner used (and what firmware revision if you can) ---------- Pioneer 111D FW 1.19
3: Drive (ms25 or ms28), Console region (PAL or NTSC) and manufacter date please. --------ms25 NTSC
4: Which firmware you tested with (5.1a, 5.1c etc) -----------------5.2b
5: Backup game title, plus region (Halo, PAL or Halo, NTSC) ------------- CounterStrike and Ghost Recon NTSC

Great work once again c4e  pop.gif

Upgraded to 5.2A last night from 5.1A. 5.2 has really smoothed out the reading, some games in 5.1 ecspecially Xbox1 games would make some odd noises, 5.2 has eliminated that, all disks are spinning smooth and so far everything is being read on my Verbatims for the 360 games and TDK -R for Xbox1 games.

Thanks again for the stellar work!

Might try changing your bios setting around. With Hitachi you can open the tray and it usually passes when hanging, never heard of having to do that with a Samsung, you might try that also.

Hey I keep getting some errors that files are missing:
D,\VIDEO_TS,352,-1
F,\VIDEO_TS\VIDEO_TS.IFO,12288,-1
F,\VIDEO_TS\VIDEO_TS.VOB,79872,-1
F,\VIDEO_TS\VIDEO_TS.BUP,12288,-1
F,\VIDEO_TS\VTS_01_0.IFO,12288,-1
F,\VIDEO_TS\VTS_01_1.VOB,12210176,-1
F,\VIDEO_TS\VTS_01_0.BUP,12288,-1
D,\,0,-1

any chance you know how to fix this

Yes, what it is saying is that you removed some video files from the image that the Layout was expecting to see.  If these are just video files or demos it is usually not a big deal.  After receiveing the error just click on (if using MooGUi) VERIFY (At the top toolbar) the select Layout File.  This will let you remove the "Missing" files from the layout and save it as a new layout.  You can then convert the .iso correctly.

I meant doing something like this. Relatively simple to make and saves a lot of time.

There is a much easier way guys.  All you need to do is cut a hole in the case shileding and the grey piece under the Hard drive.  The purchase this from New Egg (STA cable adapter).  Take one of them loose and connect one end to the hard drive and the other to the 360 cable.  Then when you want to flash remove hard drive, pull cable out of hole (plenty of slack) and plug it into the other cable from the new egg purchase.  You then have a nice long cable to plug into the PC. I have mine liek this and it takes me less than 1 minute to setup my 360 to flash.

Let me know if you have any questions or need some pics.

If true for originals, a sleep / disable function may be needed if this "Disc-LockOn" is in fact active while an original game is present in the drive. Although it's to address 'chronic' open tray errors (which I have seen even with originals on certain drives) there could be a possibility it could have a negative effect against healthy lasers. I could be wrong since I don't know exactly what it does (just a guess). C4E feel free to elaborate if you are watching this thread.

Has anyone else had any problems with original games and this firmware before I upgrade?

The Lock On feature sounds interesting!  My ms25 drive has been working fine with every release to date so i consider myself lucky.  smile.gif   I've just flashed my sammy with this and will test out with the few XBox 1 games i've backed up to see if there's any difference (i'm looking for a slightly quicker load time with the improved lock on feature).  Been making the few originals i've backed up here on CMC-MAG's (crap-EEEE media!!!) and they've been working fine.  Let's see what this fw does.  Will test when i'm done working on these Hitachi 78fk's tonite.  Peace!

Thanks again for yet another great release.

I am just so damn glad that I have a SATA MOD in my XBOX360, so flashing a new release is a matter of 5 Minutes and no taking apart the XBOX360  ph34r.gif
