78fk In Modeb Not Getting Good Dump With Sil3512
« on: December 27, 2006, 10:17:00 AM »

As the topic reads, I have had no issues getting into modeb and having Windows detect the drive (I did have amonor proplem with it constantly ejecting).  So now I am using Maximus' tool and for the life of me I cannot get a good checksum when I am doing my original backup.  I have done a bunch of searches and reading but I am looking for any tips or advice.  The card has an Sil3512 chipset. The updated drivers on the Silicone website are for 3x12. I also read a thread where someone posted success with the 3112 and a 78fk drive.

1. Will a different Windows drivers work better (nvidia drivers)?
2. Is there a bios or firmware that works better?
3. Has anyone had any success with this chipset?
4. Does anyone know a place in Toronto that I could buy the Via 6421A or L cards if I must?

I would really like to get the card I have going.  Thanks in advance.
