Xtreme firmware 5.1A,5.1B,5.1C,5.1D for TS-H943 Xbox 360

My DVD Movie backup are not working as well on my 360 with 5.1.  However this is not an issue for me becasue I NEVER play movies on my 360.  This is a personal choice I have made in an attempt to prolong the life of my 360 drive. Basic idea is that the more you use a DVD drive (for playing games, movies, music whatever) the faster the laser dies out.  My advice would be just to got to local store and pickup a cheap Phillips DVD player ($39 - $59) becasue they play everything DVD Movies (cheap or expensive media), DIVX/XVID, MP3 Music.

Like I said this is just the way I do things but I would much rather spend $40 on a cheap standalone player then risk burning out my precious  Samy 360 drive.

My Parents have this model and it works well (I have 2 of the previous generation models) Phillips player

What a load of crap...this modding of firmware does nothing to the laser.....either its going to die or its not, mine plays fine, everything i throw at it and its one of the release 360s....no red lights no problems.

Fact is if your 360 is going to screw up its going to, no being carefull with media etc etc is going to stop this.

At the end of the day the 360 is a cheap console now, if mine dies then so what i buy another, its no big deal.

If you are totally insistant upon only flashing it once, i would probably wait for 5.2 ...its starting testing phases and will use a new feature to ensure the most reliable booting proceedure possible. Details will come after more tests.

Can't wait for the xtreme 5.2 release!  I'm more than willing to beta test. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

my nec 3550a has burned many many backups all 100% working on 6 samsung drives :-)

Same here, except my nec is a 3500a the best of the series in many ways according to many posts in several forums.  Used Verbatims 2,4x mkm001 works like a charm, but it need to be burned whit dvd-rom booktype though.  If dvd-rom booktype isnt enabled u might get jerky playback and so on...

you could rename to xtreme4.2a and dot the samremoda thing or you could just use the make xtrme firmware cmd in the new f/w package and then rename that file to "hacked.bin", put it in your proper backups folder,  then just boot to dos and type samhack xxxxxxx xxxxx

Anyone know how long it will be, before some program (properly a newer version of Qwix) is released, so that we can burn Xbox360 onto single layer DVD's?

No ETA.

Just wanted to let everyone know that the bug that was causing dvd movies to not play has been found and fixed. 5.2 should be out very soon to adress that issue, and to implement the new "Xtreme Lock-On" technology, so that even the crappiest drives out there have a chance at playing backups now smile.gif

Should be out today unless we find more bugs!! tongue.gif

Just thought I'd update.  I've gotten almost every xbox1 backup I made thats on the backward compat. list working.  Mx vs. ATV, Theif Deadly shadows, Rallisport Challenge, Soul Caliber 2, Star Wars Battlefront II, & Doom 3.  Oddly enough, I can't get Splinter Cell Double Agent to work even though its on the list and I have the newest update installed.  Anyone else try this one yet?  Also, I am still having some issues with 360 games locking up now.  Hopefully these issues will be addressed soon by c4e.

Good stuff.

I've not seen anyone else with the problem of games locking up however. We've tested extensivly and not been able to repeat it?
