Wirse than that, your box will be banned in every Country, every house in the world, and even every AC Power supply, you won't be able to play it anymore......


Sorry, I was joking. Yes, like Xbox1, your console will be banned from Live services, maybe they can even make your gamertag be banned too so you can't play live with your own console/Profilem but nobody actually knows, so just wait.

I HAVE 3 XBOX36 ME AND MY BROS 2 WITH DVD REGION3 NTS/J AND ONE WITH DVD REGION 1 NTSC/USA

ALL SAMSUNG DRIVES AND ALL  PREVIOUSLY SUCCEFULY WOEKED WITH ALL FW UP TO 4.2 THE INTRESTING ALL MS25 ,THING IS THAT AFTER FW 5 THE ONE WITH DVD REGION 1 WORKS BUT THE 2 WITH DVD REGION 3 DIDNOT

WHAT HAPPENS IS THAT THEY SPINS UP AND DOWN FOR A WHILE THEN THEY STOPPED , USING SAME TECHNIQUE MEDIA BURNERS , EXTRACTING TOOLS ....ETC  , ALL MS25 .

WHAT I NOTICED THAT THE LAST 2 WITH 5.2 RECOGNISED ALL THE DL MEDIA AS BEFORE AND WORKS 100% ,BUT WITH SINGLE LAYER DVDS 100% FAILURE  NOT EVEN THE BACKUP MOVIES THAT USED TO WORK BEFORE WITH 4.2 FM ,  I TRIED THE RUBBER BAND WITH NO SUCCESS , SO WHAT I THING IS THAT THIS FW WEEKENS THE LASER ONTHE NO DVDREGION 1 XBOXES

I HELPED MY FRIEND WITH DVDREGION1 360 TO UPDATED HIS FW TO 5.1 AND ALSO WORKED FINE.

ID LIKED TO REPORT THAT TO U IRIZ AND WAIT TO UR REPLY

OK, my last question;
Before I can connect to Live for the first time, it says I have to install an update, otherwise I can't connect. Can this update change my f/w settings in any way? I really do not want to flash my f/w by myself after installing this update, because I am no computer wizzard  That's why I already bought xbox with installed xstreme on it.

if you already flashed using samread and samhack with 4.2, you should have a backups folder with orig.bin and hacked.bin.  take your orig.bin and copy it to the folder with xtreme5.1, double click "make xtreme firmware" and follow the commands.  rename the output file to "hacked.bin" and replace your old hacked.bin with the new one.  boot to dos and just type samhack .....  you should be all set.
I would reccomend checking the new hacked.bin with maximus f/w toolbox to make sure your key is correct.

Backup XBOX 1 using moded xbox, orginal game  and PC
Ok guys I got this to work.  So for anyone that has a moded xbox 1 and needs to make a playable backup for 360 on a single layer disk listen up.

1. Start xbox and go to HDD Loader
2. Place Original xbox game in xbox
3. Load disk to Hard drive.
4. Go to Avaluanch on xbox
5. FTP game folder from Hard drive to PC
5. Download Layout for Game (Layouts
6. Use MooGui to create an ISO from game file (Now on PC)
         (Usel downloaded Layout for game, Check Pad ISO, Check Outer Edge Buffer)
7.  Open Image Burn (Change LayerBreak to 1913776 for Xbox 1 games)
8. Load Verbatim DVD+R 16x media (Single Layer)
9. Load newly created ISO and burn at 4x (I have a Pioneed 111D DVD Burner )

I have tried this on 3 Games so far (Halo, Fusion Frenzy, and  Fable) and all work flawlessly using Xtreme 5.1 D Firmware.

So can I just paste in my key (x4000-x41f0) using a hex editor into the 5.1 firmware? I'm currently using 4.2 with a Samsung MS-25 & thats what I did last time (pasted key). I just want to verify please.

Yes you can do that.  However it is much MUCH easier to just make a copy of your Original.bin rename it to orig.bin and place it in the Xtreme folder (with the Make Extreme Firmware.cmd file).  The run the Make Extreme Firmware.cmd.  Once launched it will ask you what firmware version you want and make it for you.

Very easy and it always works great for me.  You can then use Extreme Boot Maker to create a bootable floppy with your firmware and needed code for yuor SATA card (sometimes the Boot maker renames the Firmware and puts it into a folder on the floppy, so I move it to the root and name rename it to whatever I want).

Only problem I encountered is that some DVDs that played with the original firmware no longer play.  Particularly (and rather sadly), none of the Futurama Volume 3 DVD's play anymore.  Other DVDs had no problems playing.

Everything else functions as it should.

First off-Thanks for the fixes to the older issues C4E! You are a true Ninja!
I can confirm that my orig. Soul Calibur 2 is working with sometimes slight stutter in some arenas it seems.

Yes I think the DVD thing has been a problem since 5.0
C4e if you read these threads, can you confirm that there might be a fix for this coming up?

Im also having problems with firmware 5.1 with DVDs that played perfectly with 3.3.

I also have problems with firmware 5.1 and DVDs that played perfectly before with 3.2
Original DVDs play just fine, but backup movies wont.

MS25, Ridata DVD 8X discs burnt with LG GSA-H10N

Yup, sadly I too can confirm that everything is working perfectly here except dvd movie playback.

Tried on ms25 & ms28 drives with firmwares 5.1a through d using a pioneer 108d writer.

Both give the same behavior, a spin up then down constantly (using TY discs that worked on previous firmware).
