Guys correct me if Im wrong but this DOES NOT WORK ON Hitachi

the title says for TS-H943.  that is a samsung drive not a Hitachi.  Do not use this f/w on a hitachi drive.

NTSC 360 (5.1D)
MS28
Memorex DVD+R (SL), Verbatim (DL)
burned with Pioneer 111D Crossflashed to DVR-111L

xbox1 games on dvd+r: Half life2, Splinter Cell, Crash Twinsanity

Seem to be working great, except Crash, in some parts of the game, the video stutters but never freezes.

Tried an original then a backup to see if speed is an issue but does the same thing in some parts.

I will try different media later today.  With 5.0 I had DDE but there now gone.

A few Questions

1/ If I have a Hitachi 59 is it best to use this Maximus-Garyopa_XTRM-HITACHI_v2_3_Stealth_Rev2 or use the Xtreme Version 51X-ht59.bin ?

1a/ If I flash a 59 with 51X-ht59.bin what benefits will I get ?

2/ If I use toollbox v3 for the Hit 78 can I also use 51X-ht78.bin ?

Thanks

i believe 51X-ht59.bin is for those who swapped their original hitachi drive for a sammy. juz a guess though.

Through extensive testing, I have found that there are a large variety of conditions that can cause a open tray error. The major three factors are Burner(and even firmware revision has a big impact), Media, and len's quality on the drive.

I would also like to add that burning software can be an issue as-well from personal exprience...(after trying the rubberband mod and getting a new drive) I used CloneCD and it was working great at first, then a few months down the line i got an open tray with every new backup, Then i thought i'd try ImgBurn and got open tray, same thing as CloneCD, (after about 7 coasters of tryouts with diff hardware and software) i tried XboxBackup Creator 2.2 to burn, and have had 100% success (with those same backups that gave me open tray when burned with CloneCD/ImgBurn). Never had another open tray error since. thought i'd let you guys know, it could be something ppl should look into.

I'm not sure you understand how this works...

Those batch files dont make the firmware compatible with Hitachi-LG drives, they only change the ASCII text within the Samsung firmware to report the drive as a Hitachi-LG drive.

This is done because in the last Fall update, the original drive version is stored in the console. If an earlier revision of the drive you have, or a drive from the other manufacturer is installed, the Error Message E66 is shown as a Firmware/Revision mismatch.

Therefore, if you want to get a Samsung drive working in a console which originally had a H-LG drive, (as I did) you need to run the .bat file which changes the ASCII text in the Samsung firmware to the code which is present in the H-LG drive you originally used. This makes the console think your drive is still the original Hitachi drive, thus avoiding the E66 message...

Therefore, the only option available to you is the GaryOPA firmwares - I would recommend the latest v2.3r2.

Ok nothing xbox1 backups work.
I have Pioneer 111D Crossflashed to DVR-111L
using clonecd works great for dl backups not one coaster
original 360 boot original xbox1 boot
here is a list of the disk I have tried

MBI 01RG20 dvd-r
CMC MAG. AF1 dvd-r
PRINCO dvd-r
MBI 01RG20 dvd-r
CMC MAG F01 dvd+r reports as dvdrom
UME01 dvd-r
RITEKG03 dvd-r
RICOHJPNLR0 dvd+r as dvdrom
OPTODISCLOP dvd+rw

Same game different results .about 50% DDE other rev up and down then open tray error

Created disk with gdf original supported game .

This is the exact same problem I had with 5.0  5.1 does exactly the same thing
50 various brands of disk burned NONE work

Quick note all the different disk above if I burn a movie onto the disk they ALL work

This has probbably been answered before, but with the MS28 would you still have to use the bad flash or VIA 10 sec method with this firmware? Thanks!

Only if it is a new drive.  If it has been flashed with 4.0 or higher, you can use the 10 sec trick or the enable 800 disc.

1: Media brand used
2: Burner used (and what firmware revision if you can)
3: Drive (ms25 or ms28), Console region (PAL or NTSC) and manufacter date please.
4: Which firmware you tested with (5.1a, 5.1c etc)
5: Backup game title, plus region (Halo, PAL or Halo, NTSC)

1. Memorex DVD-R
2. Pioneer 111D w/1.19 FW
3. ms25 Drive, NTSC Console, MFG is 2006-1-16
4. 5.1b (Slow speed always)
5. Forza Motorsports, NTSC/U

I backed Forza up 2x last night and it didn't work (on 5.0b), was pissed. This morning I saw 5.1 and the DDE fixes added. Had the FW on my drive and running Forza in 10 minutes.

Great work on the new batch system. It asks for the speed you want, then asks what version your drive is to make the correct FW. Great work once again c4e.

Yes it is a brand-new MS28 with Orig FW, I am still waiting for my PCI/SATA Card, I will let you know how I do.
