Xtreme firmware 5.1A,5.1B,5.1C,5.1D for TS-H943 Xbox 360
Posted by Iriez | December 26 01:40 EST

A new Toshiba-samsung firmware for the xbox360 has been released!

(v5.1)  Open Tray errors fixed (PFI and SS read routines updated)
(v5.1)    5.1c (Dual speed, default fast) and 5.1d (Dual speed default quiet\slow) read speed (Originals unaffected). Both toggle with original Xbox1/360 disc
(V5.1)   Xbox1 DDE errors caused by firmware, patched
(V5.1)   Possible Xbox1/360 DDE errors caused by firmware, patched
(V5.1)   Single Layer DVD disc support(+/-RW) for both Xbox1 and 360
(v5.1)  New easier batch file "Make Xtreme firmware.cmd" to make all firmwares.

*Open tray errors now fixed for good, but "Open Tray" is still a valid status for disc insertions when the drive cannot recognize the disc.
*Dual speed firmwares C (default fast) and D (default quite/slow) return. Both toggle with original Xbox1/360 disc. Originals unaffected.
*Added patch to routines that specifically targeted Xbox 1 discs with read errors
*Added patch to a routine that may have caused read errors on Xbox1/360 discs.
*Added support for -/+RW discs for both Xbox1 and 360 discs.
*Added easier batch file to create firmwares "Make Xtreme firmware.cmd".

Single layer disks are supported for both Xbox1 and 360 (360 Single layer is supported, but not yet able to be reproduced correctly). For Xbox 1 the disks can be in either the same normal raw dump method or in XBOX file ISO format. This fully works with Xbox 1 using the new(not released yet) Qwix(info) or gdfimage created ISO. The default.xbe must be unmodified and still be signed (If in doubt , copy from original). Use xbefix to check if your xbe has been modified and needs to be unpatched.

360 file ISO is still in development. The exact structure for the 360 disc is being developed and a new Qwix will support the creation of these disks.

As always, this firmware release is not guaranteed against bugs. c4e has worked dilligently at fixing all of the xbox1 errors, but some DO still exist. For right now we think this needs to be released to fix the majority of issues out there (and open tray fix, toggle speed back, in the mix!). There is NO ETA on when or if xtreme will fully boot ALL supported xb1 titles without dde issues....

But! You can help! We are trying to compile a list of backups that have issues (does not load, dde at specific places in/starting at levels). Please Let us know the following information when you post! Remember, this is IMPORTANT for us to resolve these bugs!

1: Media brand used
2: Burner used (and what firmware revision if you can)
3: Drive (ms25 or ms28), Console region (PAL or NTSC) and manufacter date please.
4: Which firmware you tested with (5.1a, 5.1c etc)
5: Backup game title, plus region (Halo, PAL or Halo, NTSC)

All of the above data is relevent to c4e resolving the bugs. So PLEASE be sure to include it! Also, let us know your success! We always want to hear that things are working right smile.gif

For anyone having dde or stuttering in games, We have found that using layouts can resolve alot of these issues. Please visit Here to get the layout files, and grab MooGUI in order to use them!

Give SimpleXiso a try if you cannot find the layout you need, but know that layouts are indeed the most optimal iso you could possibly create!

Also, it has been mentioned that alot of open tray error's have been fixed by using Xbox Backup Creator 2.2. Please keep in mind while this 5.1 adresses open tray as a error, keep in mind that open tray is a valid response! Not all open tray errors are in relation to firmware. Often times it is entirely related to media, quality of drive lens, etc. The firmware has merely enhanced the reading method of the game in order to prevent MOST open tray issues

I have decided to make a compatibility list here! I will post confirmed results as i get them, so PLEASE post what games you have successfully played, or what games do NOT work! Be specific in your results, by including what program you used to build the iso (or if it was a scene rip), media you used, drive model, and any relevent details of the game, e.g. 'gave dde on this level' or 'cannot boot past loading screen, it freezes' or 'played game successfully to level 5' etc.

CONFIRMED WORKING XBOX 1 GAMES:

Black = worked through all 1st level no dde's
Crash Twinsanity (small amount of stuttering, occurs using original disc aswell)
Doom 3
Fable
Forza
Fuzion Frenzy
GTA - SA (Works with mod's too, however if you have a previous save on your 360 HD before booting backup, it will not boot)
HalfLife
Halo
Halo 2
Mortal Kombat Armageddon (Confirmed working, but needs to be burned with layout files in order to boot and play)
MX VS. ATV UNLEASHED
Ninja Gaiden
Ninja Gaiden Black
Over The Hedge
Scarface
Shenmue 2
Sniper Elite
Soul Calibur 2
Splinter Cell : Double agent
Ty the tasmanian tiger 2
Ty the tasmanian tiger 3

I'm glad the open tray problem is fixed.  I think I'll leave the rubberband in my drive just in case.  Anybody know when the next qwix is coming out?

Can verify that the DDE's are gone from Halo1. Great job C4E, just in time for a holiday gift for everyone! You didn't really need to work that hard on it, I can understand that it's the holidays, but I'm sure glad you did! I will be putting it through lots of testing over the next few days! I needed the work!

Is there any stealth security on the single layer backups? I know the xbox1 single layer discs no longer need the security sector on disk, is that now hard coded into the fw? How about for Video Sector, DMI, and PFI - or are they not stealth as single layer discs?

So, since I have an MS25 drive, I should use 5.1b? So it "Reports as MS25"? I'm using 4.2b right now and it works on XBL.

5.1C looks awesome thanks for that

I assume rubber band mod will never be needed now as long as you use good media ?

can someone elaborate on the dual speed versions (C & D)? when does a 360 game need to read slow? or is that for xbox1 games?  uhh.gif
