Ok, i still haven't received my sata pci card, but decided to give this tutorial a try.
With all the troubles ive been having, i thought, why not.
This is what happens:

this device is not compatible with mtkflash

I guess this verifies 100% that my m/b is not compatible?
BTW, its an asus p4c800d, which works for others.

Argh...Ill keep waiting for the card to show up...

I bought the pci via6421a sata card, I have the ms28 drive, but when I boot my pc to dos it doesn't recognize the pci card, does anybody knows how to fix this problem

Did you follow the tutorial? Did you setup drivers for via card ? You need to turn 360 on after booting into DOS.Did xtreme boot maker find your card ?

Just bought my VIA card off the 'bay..Hope it comes quick..

Xtreme boot maker recognized the card, but the problem is when I get to dos and turn on my 360 I wont recognized the card after I type the commands. But When I try with my onboard chip wich is a ICH5 it gets detected with dos but doesn't backup the original firmware

Gonna give this tutorial a try today. Just got my SYBA ATA PCI card with the correct VIA chipset.

One question: Do I need to have the windows drivers for the card installed in windows in order to use Xtreme Bootmaker?

I have successfully flashed my Sammy ms28 with Xtrem52b.bin, My drive will read originals, but not backups. Whenever I put one in, it says Reading, then goes to Open Tray. Could a simple re-flash help my problem with maybe Xtrem52a.bin or one of the others?

glad this subject is up, im having problems with my 6421. I have an Nividia SLI 4 I bought the serial card that everybody recommends and for some reason the drive does not show up in bootmaker and when i go to control panel the drive is not showing up at all. so when i reinstall it i get a exclamation point saying the drive can not start code 10. now i havent tried the tut the guy start this topic but i tried one that was had the pictures and my drive is not being detected in dos and when i pull up windows. At one point the drive did show up with no problems but as soon as i turn my pc off now its gone again. any ideas

anyone know a canadian retail site for the via chipset required?or will my ASUS M2NPV-VM Mother Board work with this method?

man, what bad luck. I finally got the via sata 6421 pci card. The card appears fine in windows, but the bootmaker program says it is not compatible.
when i run mtkflash, no drives are detected (disabled all drives/raid in asus p4c800d bios).
Arghh......i could pay$40 to get this modded, but what if i want to flash again?

my board uses an integrated VIA sata chipset so i was able to m28 flash my drive without that card

Are you sure the backup you made works?
