This is the first time i've heard this error.If net framework 2.0 and via drivers are installed,i recommend you to check the official forum of XBM.

all right, i worked my shit out.
the problem was, that windows assigned two deviced on one irq. i disabled my onboard sound and then xbm filled both fields right.

now i got another problem.
i connected my xbox to the via adapter and after booting while detecting the ide drives, my pc went in to a black  mask. after severel secs it said something like 'devices not known. bios not installed'.
after passing this text, xbm booted and i typed xRead. after that, i was only able to choose between ide master and ide slave.

next i'll try to update my bios.
does someone has a other theory??(IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

unfortunately im still not able to solve my problem yet.
my pc stills says 'HardWare Initiate failed, Please Check Device!!! The Bios does not be installed. Press <g> to continue!'

i tried several things(updating bios, changes sata cable, ...)
even this thread couldnt help me: http://forums.xbox-scene.com/index.php?showtopic=621196

maybe there is s.o. out there who can help me.

i have x5.3 on my xbox ..but now iwan flash to i1.2 ..do i need to flash to my original firmware file 1st??

No you don't need that.Use your orig.bin to prepare ixtreme and flash it.

It seems that computer related.Update your bios and use latest drivers for all your components as well as via card.If the problem continues,you better try another computer.

finally i tried it at three computers, with all the same result. i dont know whether its the sata card or something strange with my ms28 - but dont care now, i allready ordered a modchip to give it an end.

Have a few questions about flashing the ms28.

Will this 10 sec trick work on a via 8237 chipset or do i have to buy that pci card.

Also iv bin trying to run this extreme boot maker on my vista Os and i get an error saying something about an instance not available or something like that cant really remember not home to see it again.

Yes you can use via8237.
I recommend you XP.Forget about that crappy platform.

I flashed my 360 way back when 5.0a was brand new. I haven't been involved in the 360 since and would like to know how exactly i got about flashing ixtreme 1.2, can i just flash it the same way? would that do any damage? I cant exactly follow your explanation  for a simlar problem on page 32 maybe im just to out of the lingo.

P.S. im pretty sure i dont have my original bin

If you have any firmware with your key no prob.Just flash 1.2  ixtreme with XBM and bypass the error message that your firmware is not recognised(when opening 1.2 with XBM).

yea i know vista is horrible.

but yea i got it all sorted did the 10 sec trick and it worked great i was having issues cuz i guess i was not using the right mtkflash with taht recovery thing i dl and use iprep and it worked great.

Now i have another issue with one of my friends xbox i flashed his way back when and lost the orig FW and wanted to reflash it with the brand new FW. Now he has the ms25 so yea simple, when i do mtkflash r /m orig.bin it just pauses. Now a friend told me that when u flash with extreme guess u cant read off of it is there anyway i can get the SS key from the drive at all.

does that mean it spoil?

If you setup its drivers and plug a sata hd and it doesn't detect,either sata cable is malfunctionning or the card is down.

Ok got that figured out thanks for your help worked great.

Now i cam to another stop. A friend of mine pops up with a BenQ VAD6038. Now i really never herd of this drive at all have bin doin small research around the net about it but all i find is soldering. Me and soldering dont mix, is there a way to get it to read and write without soldering anything.

It's not possible at the moment.
