@Tortuga good you got it worked. That floppy was probably working but you forgot to move xtreme.bin from samsung folder to root.

@2001s4ny if your sata chipset is compatible, there won't be any problem.

Great tutorial but I am having problems. I've followed 3 tutorials so far. Each one is pretty similar. My problem is I can't get my pc to run either the pendrive or the NTFS4DOS cd.

Both have been done according to the instructions but for some reason my PC won't have it.

I set the pc to start from USB. Start the PC and the pendrive light comes on, I then get a message saying that the sata ports can't detect anything because I have disconnected everything until I get the dos screen to start flashing the drive. I hit F1 to continue with the pendrive, the pendrive light comes on, then goes off and nothing happens.

Using the NTFS4DOS cd, it starts to boot then comes up with a message which says UMB's unavailable........ invalid opcode at F118.................................. and that's the end of that.

I've tried the cd on my laptop and it runs fine but the laptop doesn't have a sata port so it's no good to me.

Has anybody come across this problem and if so, how did you overcome it. I've tried every possible way I can for the last 6 hours and I am still no closer to getting this done.

Thanks

Well I'm simply choosing "boot from usb hard drive" and no problem. What i can say is to use another pendrive or usb port.I know that is not very helpful but your problem is almost unique.

Hi

I've tried a different USB port and still no joy. I'm still puzzled about the ntfsdos cd not working. Does anyone know what this Invaldi Opcode message is. I've tried downloading different ntfsdos files and it does the same in each.

The disk works with my laptop but it has no sata ports. Could I buy a usb to sata cable?

Thanks

hey Franco,

have you used the ntfsdos cd method? I'd like to use that instead of the floppy. I don't really trust the floppy.

and I don't see an option to boot from usb in my bios.

I just wanted to know if you had to do any hex editing if I used the ntfs cd.

or can I just run the cd and use samread and samhack and done?

Honestly speaking i've never used ntfs cd.I've used pen drive and it always worked fine. You can at least try to read the original firmware from floppy to see if it works. After that, you better use a quality disc to write the firmware.

@gam3r it's more than enough.

@Mutilated The reason of this topic is extreme boot maker + firmware toolbox and mtkflash.I'm not using samread&samhack. Therefore,i can't help you about that. However, try turning 360 on after pc is booted into dos.

@Mutilated is your card raid or normal? If it's raid you need to find a way to disable that.Could you tell what are the steps you followed right after plugging your card upto getting no response from mtkflash?
