Maximus Toolbox 3.0 Questions

Is there any form of workaround to enable me to use my sli 3112a sata chipset? I read all the forums everywhere and it seems that a handful of people have managed to get it to work, and alot havent. I've seen two different keys so far, and my rawdump is always fails checksum. Although I've managed to get it to patch successfully but I did not go though with the flash.

The other question is does the toolbox 3.0 support the usb - sata or not. That has been tossed back and forth in forums for days now with no real evidence if it works or not. I have access to the team xecuter sata-usb device, but I have to drive 30min to use it. Anyone have any good advice about this besides heresay?

Hopefully I can get my drive flashed via one of these ways, I'm off work for this entire week and I would love to have the xbox up and running.

if you are getting bad dumps, I would not chance it and brick my Drive...

So far all the reports are no, the xecuter usb and a few other generic ones have all been reported as no go.
maybe this might change with an update, but, it looks like it might be a hardware limitation. (xecuter said they got it to work with the beta version, see the news, no one else has yet) if you are going to drive anywhere, you might try picking up a PCI sata adapter.

othewise, relax, enjoy your time off and be patient, i am sure there will be more information as time goes on, it has only been 3 days since release.

Thanks man.

That's one of the problems, I picked up the belkin 2 port sata PCI card, found out later it was a sli chipset. I guess im taking it back tomorrow.

So I guess I'll post this up for others to read.

Below information is for the v78 Hitachi Drives.

Belkin Serial ATA PCI Card (bios 3112a) (as of 12/21) will NOT work with Maximus's ToolBox 3.0
USB -> SATA Are Currently No-Go (except 1 or 2 random reports of success)


Does anyone know the chipset in the Compusa Serial ATA PCI Card?

But SIL 3112 is the card to flash Hitachis. If Maximus Toolbox 3.0 do not work then what else can we do to flash a v78?
