Need Help Cant Reflash Samsung Ms28

Why did you even hex-edited your firmware in the first place? Use the included bat-files next time for a proper-can't-go-wrong-firmware.

What errormessage do you get when trying to read/flash your drive? Do you have an MS25 or MS28? You say you have the VIA chipset, so I'm assume you've got 6421. Try the bad-flash method..

The tut i was using said to use hexworkshop

"1) Open hexworkshop
2) open original firmware
3) press ctrl + g
4) set offset to 4000 and “hex”
5) select edit then select block
6) enter 200 and select “hex”
7) select edit
8) then right-click and  select copy
9) Then open the xtreme.bin
10) and repeat but paste instead of copy."

My drive is ms28. I just tried to do the SAMREMOD but it said my orig.bin wasnt from a samsung ms drive.

When i try to flash it with mtkflash it just hangs there useing 10sec method or whatever , when i hit esc it has error status : 00

edit: ooh ya my via is VT8237

Correct me if i'm wrong but the bad-flash method is just the turn off xbox when u trying to flash then turn it on , correct? If so thats how i did it in the first place and it wont work now. I actually found some other ppl with same exact problem but they were able to fix it with ways i cant.

http://forums.xbox-s...hlight=e65 ms28

Maybe samremod method wont work cuz i didnt originally flash it useing samread?

Rofl got it to work, i will say how i got it to work.

Since i allready had my orig.bin i just made sure i made my hacked 100% correctly this time useing the bat file that came with xtream 5.0

Ok i tried for 2-3 days not being able to flash my dvd useing my usb flashdrive that i used xtream bootmaker to make. I decided today to use floppy drive and use xtream bootmaker to make the bootdisk , i clicked both the ms28 options. I transfered my good hacked.bin over to the floppy. I booted my computer with the floppy i just made. *i only had 1 cd-rom drive hookd up to power in my computer*. I left the xbox drive inside the xbox like if it was normally *figured this would help with the ground problem* and i placed the floppy drive ontop of the xbox dvd drive.

I typed mtkflash w /sata hacked.bin . Turned on my xbox then hit enter. Just my got my via and ide primary ports poped up. i hit esc and retyped it this time i had 3 options the ide primary , xtream primary and via primary. I turned off my xbox waited 5 secs for it to fully turn off , picked 3 via and counted to 10 and turned on my xbox and it flashed on my second attempt.

Cliffnotes on what i did differnt then the 1000 other times i tried to reflash it:
1.Left xbox dvd drive in the xbox
2.Physically unplugged everythign except 1 cd rom
3.Used a floppy drive instead of usb flash drive *actually my 2nd time i tried to use floppy but i didnt do any of the other things i'm listing*
