OMG! Lets all rally behind sdeens and stop C4Eva's reign of terror!!!!!

Seriously, C4Eva doesnt get paid to do this, he does it in his spare time. You should be greatful he even releases hacked firmwares in the first place as he takes the great risk of Microsoft finding and suing him into oblivion. Then you blame Iriez for a problem he could NOT have known about? What do you expect him to do? Look into his crystal ball and predict a firmware problem? The reason WE are used as testers is because there are literally HUNDREDS of games that could have any number of problems and testing them all would require a great amount of people and a great deal of time, so unless you want 1 firmware release every year, i would seriously just STFU and deal with it. Yes we are the testers, but im more than happy to be one considering the firmware is FREE and updates are regular.

If single layer matters so much to you, use the original for now!

I would also think about apologizing before Iriez bans you.

QUOTE
at least C4E supports his firmware releases quickly...he BETTER because the risks are very high.

You became responsible for any possible risk when you decided to flash your drive. For doing so the worse that can happend is the you damage your equipment.

QUOTE
But I dont like him using the public for his beta testing..that is very dangerous...

C4e takes absolutely no responsibility  for what you do with his firmware. After he released version 5.0, did get go to your house and put a gun to your head and forced you to install it?

QUOTE
more caution on these releases is mandatory and the MODs seem to be ignoring this fact.

Show me where on the forums you can download this firmware.

QUOTE

IRIEZ,

you still did NOT answer my question:

why did you wait until p24 to mention that v5.1 was available to fix these problems.?

Obviously I'am not Iriez, but he did not mention it was to fix these issues. Iriez had no idea there was a problem, he was trying to help out people having difilcuties getting games to work, as his Xbox 1 games worked fine. Iriez was doing the real beta testing, I thought you did not like public beta testing.

QUOTE
a good MOD would have closed the thread immediately and issued a warning NOT to use v5.0 and pulled the firmware pending updates that fix the compatabiliuty problems...

If Iriez is not a good MOD I suggest you look out for your account. If you look back on this thread you will see there are many people who are using there Xbox 1 games with this firmware. I myself have an old DVD-R of  a game I like that works with this Firmware.

QUOTE
he is using you guys as a Guinnee Pig and i don't like that policy its wreckless.

My friend just called me and told me C4e broke into his house and put a gun to his head and made him flash his drive with version 5.3c.

QUOTE
I said from the start v5.0 is buggy and is obsolete and should not be used...now we know why.

The Search feature on the website does not work, so I can not search for your username to see these postings. Would you be so kind as to show us?

You are not the only one who believes that it should not be used, Call this number 1-800-469-9269 and ask them which firmware you should use.

to everyone responding to sdeens. he is feeding off your responses. its best to ignore trolls and let the mods deal with or delete their posts. it just takes everything off topic and encourages him to post again. If you simply ignore him and keep the topic flowing with useful posts then we can all save our time countering his posts and live happier less annoying lives. if we pretend he doesn't exist then he doesn't exist.

Its not a major error, theres some problems somepeople are having running xbox1 games off SL discs.
The main function of the firmware, to run 360 backups, is working.

I'd recommend reading the readme that comes with v5.0, it tells you the differences and then its a matter of taste.

Getting the games to boot is no problem at all, it's getting them to play without DDE's that's getting everyone. 5.1 should hopefully solve this problem.

Merry Christmas everyone!!!!!

Well, 5.1 has fixed alot of dde's, but unfortunately not ALL. c4e is still researching the problem, but as of right now were unsure as to whether it can be resolved. Also, media issues have been resolved for single layer. I can confirm +RW booting great on my 111L/D. It might still require some bitset changing, as some burners do not default to dvd-rom.

As for Mr Troll, I've shut him up for the time being. I find it funny how someone can complain about something that is enhancing his experience, without ANY possibility of damaging your console. Some people are just too stupid and vocal for their own good, or more likely he's just a child.

Well I cannot any Xbox 1 backups to boot.  I am trying Splinter Cell, the very first one.  I get the message saying that an error occured, go to Microsoft.com etc.  X and numbers, B and numbers.

I am using SH-D162C drive, use the Shcrotm  (or however you spell it) to dump the entire disc, then I use the same program and extract it, then use Craxtion to create an ISO and I make sure it is set not to patch.

I am burning on a Pioneer 111D.  I tried DVD+R and DVD-R.  I tried imgburn, nero, and clone.

Does the 111D also set the booktype to DVD-ROM for single layer as it does for DL disc?

Any thoughts?  I might try reflashing the MS28.

Thank you

Lucho

After my issues above, I decided to use my Pioneer 111D (Crossflashed to 111L) I had laying around and now xbox games boot.  It must be the booktype as the 111L sets DVD+R to DVD-ROM.  The 111D I was trying it on has v1.23 on it so not sure if this makes a difference or not. Splinter Cell and Half-Life 2 work great so far.  Played half-life 2 for about 25 minutes and no issues so far.

So SH-D162C to dump and extract, Craxtion to rebuild, and Nero to burn worked for me.

Thanks again.

my dvd backup movies dont work any more. It was working fine with 3.2, my last firmware. Also if I leave the movie disk in the tray for too long, it starts giving me a burning smell. My 360 backups and originals all work fine.

Do I have to use the Enable800 disk to go back to 3.2
