Xtreme firmware 5.0A and 5.0B for TS-H943
« Reply #345 on: December 21, 2006, 05:29:00 AM »

well a couple more tests i have tried. i tried taking my image of xbox 360 live unpluged disk. i cut the image down to a single layer dvd szie. i took the orginal image and the one i cut down and extracted all the files from them. i then md5 checked all the files from the orginal and compared to the cutdown. i tried burning the cut down version to DVD+R with DVD-rom bitsetting. it attempts to boot but then gives a disk error. so it did work to do the challenge response just need something else that was in the remain of the image that wasn't in the files themselves.

also i have one successfull game to report. Simpsons Road Rage works graat on a sinle layer DVD+R. I used XDVDFS to build the iso in the orginal file order. i don't know if that matters but i then burnt to DVD+R with DVD-ROM bitsetting and it plays like a dream. no disc errors or any such problems so far. i am going to continue playing and i will make a post if there is a problem

Hey Guys, A couple of new updates..

- I went to the official site and downloaded and burned the "Original Xbox Game Support Update (DEC 06)" and placed it into my 360 to update..

- It updated the Game Support and then prompted me to update my system as well (and didnt let me play any discs until I did ggrrr  mad.gif )

- After both of the updates, I tried all 4 of my Xbox 1 backups that didnt work before and this time I got a new error message...

So. You can't just run the "Original Xbox Game Support Update"..?
You have to run "two" updates..?
One for the system dash and one for the emulation process..?

That sucks!

I know we have to update to play xbox 1 games but everytime I do it I think about getting red lights.....cough...cough..fallupdate....cough...

Thanks for the info.

that is actually what I suspect. I have noticed this too.  ALL my small game backups are working.   Same as everyone else.  I have not even seen a backup with full capacity work 100 percent.  Anyone else confirm this?

spoke to soon. kill switch freezes after the tutorial level.

i am trying battlestar galatica now and then soul caliber 2 after that.

i have to admit the one i am really curious about is Barbie Horse Adventures Wild Horse Rescue. it has to be the all time best xbox game and its a good thing that MS included it as a backwards compatible one.

results: battlestar galactica = dirty disc error on load

Fable boots and goes to the menu but when you try to start a game it then gives a dirty disc error.

Next Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time

hmmm did they removed prince of persia compatibility in the last update? its on this list
http://www.xbox.com/...tygameslist.htm
but when i put it a backup of it in the xbox it says it isn't compatible but in the future it might be

XDVDFSTools does this. i am going to try it in a few minutes and see if the orginal halo will work correctly on truth and reconciliation. If you don't mind looking for that site with the layout tables please post a link. i looked but without luck. thanks edit: nevermind found it here http://layouts.xbox-scene.com/

I am also going to attempt to pad the iso with XDVDFSTools. it has a option to pad the data to the end of the disc(-pad) i will report back if it works. right now i am testing on doom3 and it freezes on the activision video.

I got my DVD+Rs working but they absolutely have to be bitsetting DVD-ROM. i couldn't get my burner to bitsett DVD+RW correctly unfortunately

The fact that you have to do bitsetting on a Single Layer DVD+R shows that the auto bitsetting is now working properly.

I thought since 3.1 you didn't need to bitset.

(v3.1)   Added Booktype overwrite patch (bitsetting to Dvdrom no longer required)

Thats my point exactly, that still works for DVD+R DLs but it seems as it does not for DVD+R(W) Single Layer.

NEWS UPDATE:

Just wanted to thank everyone for their testing, and error reporting! We have confirmed the dde errors with halo and other games, and c4e has discovered that the samsung diliberatly targets xbox1 disc's with phantom read errors.

That is what was causing backups to throw dde! It has been fixed, and i can confirm halo getting past level 3. c4e's scan without the new patches, seven segments on the game data was erroring. New firmware = 0 smile.gif

Without your guys faithful testing, the errors would not have been discovered and squashed so quickly, so BIG thanks! We are finalizing testing on it, and hopefully we will get it out to the public PRONTO!

The dde's at specific places were of course not a media issue. People's issues with booting games at all, ARE a media issue, or a combination user error/drive error related issues.
