This is what I don't understand, apparently the SIL chipset worked fine with the older hitachis and slax but VIA didn't for many. Now with the 78, SIL isn't working well for dumping, so what is the recommended SATA pci adapter chipset to use for the 78 and slax?

Why are you all sad about having bought an Xbox360 with a Samsung drive, when this is out? I don't understand.

One question - Is the hacking procedure on the 0078FK drive, the same as all other Hitachi drives?

not tried it yet but it sure looks like it i have 2 hitachi 47 comming next week 2 replace broken samsung drives plus 2 78s for flashing will know for sure then
