bad flash recovery (keep in mind you need a VIA chiset for this to work. You either need the VT6421 Raid card, or a VIA chipset Mobo):
1. Keeping the 360 drive unpowered boot to dos using usb stick or floppy created with Xtreme Boot Maker (make sure you check the two boxes, and you chose CUSTOM MTK flash/Detect I/O). .
2. Once you get a dos prompt, power up 360 drive.
3. type Samread 1234567 12345 (the numbers should match you 360 serial)
4. once you're prompted with a list of ports to read from, cut the power to the 360dvd drive, DO NOT MAKE YOUR SELECTION UNTILL YOU POWERED DOWN THE DRIVE.
5. Make your port selection (if you have the VIA card is should appear in the list as VIA 6421 or Xtreme Primary/Secondary Master/Slave).
6. Once youve made your selection, it should hang. At this point, count to 15 (this timing you'll have to play with untill you get the optimal time interval that works best with your setup. For me 15 is right on the money). At 15, power up the DVD drive, and if the timing is right and youve selected the right port from the list, it should start reading the firmware off the drive.
7. Once the reading is done, powercycle dvd drive and your PC.
8. Repeat steps 2 to 7 for the Flashing part. However, at step 3, you should type Samhack instead of Samread, followed by the same number sequence you used for the SamRead command.
Notes: If the reading part fails, 360Sam will tell you so (read the screen), but it has already created a folder using the number sequence you entered for the samread command. Youll have to either delete that folder or rename it to something else (or use a different number sequence each time), or 360Sam will complain the next time you input the Samread command.
