Hitachi Wont Open After Flash
« on: December 11, 2006, 03:34:00 PM »

Im buying a 360 off a guy cheap because he flashed the hitachi he said to Mode b and now it wont open. He said he has no idea how to fix it. Can this be fixed? Can i get another drive and replace it? I have not flashed a 360 yet but have been trying to read up on them here. Is this worth buying?

you can put another drive in as long as you can get the unique key out of the borked drive (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) if you cant get the key off the original drive , then the system is as good as dead(this far anyway)

Well can still be used as a dvd player and for xboz 1 games.
When it comes to your problem, there are two options:
1-the flashing went bad and hitachi is in recovery mode. You can solve this by removing the chip and reprogramme it.
2-Somehow he burnt mn103 chip which controls ejecting and closing, there is no real solution for it.

how does it still play dvds and xbox one games? I thought the drive was toast and doesnt work at all? He really doesnt want to give all the details of either how bad it is or if he just doesnt know.
