Detected In Bios But Not In Windows
« on: December 05, 2006, 03:21:00 AM »

Stayed up all night trying to figure this out and still i don't know what's wrong....

Hitachi rom is detected in Bios (with my other DVDRW writer) but when i log into windows i can't seem to see, all i see is my dvdrw writer.

I went into device manager and still couldn't see it, i even tried add new hardware and still nothing....

Has anyone come across this problem before?

[P.S. I used Slax cd, the frst time i tried it i got a fatal error message, but after i restarted it it seem to work fine (i saw the login prompt)]

Set the drive in mode B with the slax - good
scan for hardware changes under device manger - Try this
search for new hardware - nuh uh dont do this as the bios has already picked it up
check my computer - also remove any virtual drives (to get rid of confusion)
run the flasher depending on the instructions given
after that if all goes well then good luck in the future...

this is the way I did mine so if the slax disc says spinning up disc press the eject button on the 360.
