New Samsung Drive.?

Recently had a Xbox 360 with a sanmsung drive however after flashing found the unit had a faulty GPU. Today got the unit changed ( shop did not take check for the sticker )

Ok the machine I got taday is dated: 2006-10-07 BUT the unit has a Samsung drive..!

I thought that they did not use Samsung drives anymore - before I open this unit up does anyone know if there is a new Samsung drive out.. Don't want to open it up is there is a new drive doing the rounds...

Most likely an MS28.

My roommate just got a XBOX 360! too bad finals are next week and i really cant afford to play with it too much. So far we are playing Gears of War and its pretty fun.

By opening the drive im pretty sure it matches the Samsung DVD drive!
Just wondering what are my options?

I ve been following the scene somewhat but now i really need to get involved...
So far i know that Commodore4eva's Xtreme firmware 4.2A/B Rev.1 for TS-H943 Xbox 360 (FW package we currently recommend for this drive) will be the package of choice if it is the samsung drive.

Is there any mods out there without opening it up? God i hate to play doctor with my PC
