I had the exact same problem happen last night.  I was running an original game (project gothem 2) and opened the drive (while the game was running) and tried resetting back to the dash.  The system froze and now every time I try and boot it's extremely slow, and, when I ftp in, it shows my f drive as empty.  It takes at least a half an hour before I can even get to a secondary menu but I'll try and get dvd to xbox to run, if it recognizes the f drive then what?

I just tried editing my evox.ini to turn off the f drive, and now mine boots up like normal again also.

If you can see your F drive through dvd2xbox, how do you restore it?  After disabling my f drive in my .ini file I can still see it and all the subfolders through dvd2xbox (it immediately starts running slow) but I can't figure out how to get out of it. (sorry to butt in on your thread Luvaa but I didn't want to start a new thread for the same topic biggrin.gif )

well the only thingi can think of is putting a new evox.ini file and another file (forgot wut its called.. haha) in ur g folder, but idk if thatll work since u cant even see the contents in the drive, for elec teck im not sure if i undertsand ur prob, is it that ur xbox also cant read the f drive?
what i need to know is if in dvd2xbox ur f drive is enabled and u if u can see everything in ur f drive or not..... if not i really have no clue, try reformatting if u can see the conetents then i can help

woofis, I can disable my f drive through my evox.ini file, and still see my f drive with dvd2xbox.

If I ftp in through my pc (with the f drive enabled), it shows the f drive as empty.

If I leave the f drive turned on, it takes me over an hour just to try and get it to load to the secondary (launch) menus sad.gif

befor reformating it, you could unlock it and stick it in a pc. then use one of the pc xbox harddrive explorers to look at the drive....

I have my drive unlocked already, so that wouldn't be a problem, but would that give me any different results than using flash fxp?

I also remember reading that cleaning out your cache can solve some HD problems, I tried that with no luck, now I'm going to try deleting all my games saves (after backing them up of course).  Is there anything else that I could try before giving up and reformatting?

It might, when you look at it in the pc with a file explorer, you are seeing the actual data...

If your evox install became corupted somehow, evox might not think that there is a drive, when there actualy is...

It might not help, but it shure won't hurt.

You might also try reinstalling evox, not with an auto installer, but manualy...

Hi 2 all,

well, I now reinstalled my EvoX, but it didn´t do anything...sorrily..

About the "put the HD into your PC" idea: I like it, and I didn´t even know that there are such tools as a "browse your XBOX HD in your PC". My problem is though that my PC has this ugly BIOS limitation and actually has only half of ther processor speed than the XBOX has  biggrin.gif
I won´t flash my PC bios, since teh comp is about to get thrown out anyway...So: Can I overcome this BIOS limit problem in order to take a look at my XBOX HDD? (e.g. let it boot, then switch IDE´s??)

Next thing: Since I guess that I won´t get around reformatting my 120 GB Segate Barracuda, my problem is to find a tool to sort of LOW LEVEL FORMAT my drive.. does slyaer or X-DISK include this ddep formatting option? Or how would you guys go about reformatting it?

This question is sort of crucvial, as I am afraid that my HDD now has a physical error, so in 2 weeks the same thing probably happens again. ANy tools which deep format & tell me if there was a defect (and at the best "close" those sectors so this won´t happen again)? (Tools for the XBOX)

So many questions

Thanxs 2 all of you for trying hard to help me out here

I just tried overwriting evox as well with no luck, but I will try popping my HD into my PC tonight when I get home to see if I have any luck there.  Thanks for the suggestion dustycelt.
