Snes Controller To Xbox
« on: February 03, 2020, 12:22:00 AM »

I know there exists people that have converted their SNES controller to work on XBOX and there are schematics and such online, but since my soldering skills just plain suck and I don't have much spare time to do so, I was wondering if some kind person could mod my SNES controllers (I don't want to use the plain SNES controllers, but rather 2 of my own SNES controllers) to work on XBOX?

Of course, I will pay for the labor and shipping and supply the SNES controllers (and XBOX ones if need be). Or I have many games and ROMs to barter but we could work something out.

Why bother? The buttons of the Xbox standard controler are set out the same as snes anyway.

This is one way you can do it!

Buy this...(IMG:http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v517/magnuspics/snesusb.jpg)
Google: Smart joy.

Then buy this...(IMG:http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v517/magnuspics/xb-twincbl.jpg)
Google: X-Twins cables

Good luck!

It just has a better "feel" when playing the games with their original controller.

I recently purchased a MadCatz RetroCon. It is shaped just like the original NES controller, but has all the buttons of a modern day controller. It is made for PS2, but it works extremely well on Xbox with one of those PS2->Xbox adapters.

It isn't exactly the same as playing with an original controller, but it definitely has a closer feel than the Xbox one.

They are only $5 at Best Buy.

Maybe because the D pad on the xbox controller is crap.

I use a ps2 convertor which feels quite good, and feels alot better than the crap
D pad on the xbox controller.

The S-controller D-pad is the best I've ever used.

It's fluid, and large, which isn't something the NES/SNES/PS2/GCN can say.

Going back to the original premise of this post, can someone please make me a SNES to XBOX controller?

Why? I like my SNES controller. It's fluid, has all 6 fire buttons on the face, independent turbo switches, and the D-Pad is better than any XBOX controller could be.

So if someone would actually be able to help me and make me a SNES to XBOX controller adaptor, please email me

m@gnus this doesnt work.

its made for PCs. even if it works as a standard controller on PC whitout drivers it doesnt mean it works on xbox. the gameports only support xbox gamepads

this could work if someone would code emu-specific support, but it doesnt seem its going to happen

afaik nobody made a snes controller to xbox yet

but someone did genesis and nes (thread up a bit) and its really alot easier than you think.

basicly you use a VGA cable, or any multi-pin cable for that matter
you yank the old cable, and solder each wire to a xbox button and corresponding button on the gamepad.

Hey all,

I have done this with my controllers. I build the box from 2 cheap xbox controllers, and then modded my old SNES, NES, Amiga & Sega pads to plug into my box.

You can check out pics of it at this thread: The X-Tap

It's not the top one, but second from the top. It says x-tap on it.

Alter: Check your Email.

If you link me to the schematics of how to do this...I will try it out over this weekend. If I can get it to work I will let you know. Then You could ship me the parts needed and we can discuss price. Sound good?

My girlfriend would love this...if it is pretty easy I would consider doing it for free (the GF would really appreciate this and that could be a form of payment I am willing to accept)  tongue.gif
