Ms28 E65 Error After Booting Up Under Windows
« on: November 28, 2006, 06:35:00 PM »

Using a Xecuter 360 Connectivity Kit (V1 i believe) I backed up and flashed my MS28 successfully with 4.2A Xtreme (using 10sec trick). Since then, I have successfully made back ups using the kit in windows several separate times, and have been able to play them on the 360. However, this morning when hooking up my drive to my pc, windows did not recognize my drive (which sometimes happens) so I decided to reboot. I have the enabled 0800 disk in but it came up into Windows and still not recognising the drive. I noticed the eject button on the xecuter kit no longer works.

I decided to put my DVD drive back into my 360 to make sure i was still able to eject, and I get a E65 Error and a red light on the bottom right led of the 360. The Enable 0800 CD was in the drive when i booted up because I was unable to eject it. I've managed to eject the disk now it is all plugged into the 360 and have tried putting a game in (not a backup) but still get the same error. I know I havent plugged any of the wires in incorrectly and the kit still powers up when connected to the molex cables (leds light up). What would have caused this and is there anything I can do to get it back to how it was? Any help is greatly appreciated.

you should try reflashing it.  I think e65 is some FW error message.  Maybe reflashing it will help.

Thanks for the reply, I will give it a try when I get home... Im assuming you mean with 4.2A and not my original firmware although I will also try that if the 4.2A doesnt work. Curious as to what would have caused it. Will post how it goes

Thanks for your suggestion m0z... I have tried to reflash the drive using samremod then samhack... everything goes through fine and flashes correctly, but I still get the E65 error. I have even tried samorig thinking that would at least get it back to a working state but no joy. Not looking good at all... I tried some of your suggestions from other posts m0z but havent had any luck with it. Have I bricked my drive or because I can still flash it, is there just something funny going on in the firmware update?
