Brick My Pioneer 111 Burner By Flashing, Want To Flash Back
« on: November 27, 2006, 11:29:00 AM »

I flash my samsung, however when I flashed w/samhack, I was given 3 options

1.)  Secondary Master
2.)  Secondar Slave
3.)  Sata Master.

I accidentally pressed 1, and it flashed my pioneer 111 dvd burner.  After 100% flash, my computer will no longer recognize the pioneer 111 burner.

Even the M/B bios will not recognize the drive, there is no light, and it just seems like the dvd burner has no power, even though it is hooked up.

Can I reflash my pioneer dvd burner to fix it?  If so, how?  Even thouggh my bios or computer will not recognize the drive.

Is my dvd burner bricked or salvagable?

Thanks.

if you have the original firmware of the pioneer drive then yes you can flash it back.
I had a similar issue but with my hard drive even though bios could not see recognize it.  I just did the same steps to flash it except this time flash it back with the original firmware.

the problem is that, it will not recognize in bios and the original firmware provide by pioneer are all self install window programs.

So once in windows, it does not show up in the system.

In order to revert back,  I would need a original firmware in bin format and try to use it using mtkflash, but I can not find anything such as this.

If anyone have similar problem and found a solution, please let me know.

If the drive wont power or eject than its most likely bricked.. Does it show up in bios. at all?  You normally need to see the drive to flash it with the pioneer firmware. The original firmware is easily found online

No, after the flash, it will no longer see it in bios.

Why don't you flash with any firmware of Pioneer the way you flashed with mtkflash.
BTW bad flash doesn't mean bricked!!

thanks for everyone suggestions...

I would reflash with mtkflash but the problem is that after the BAD FLASH, the burner is not recognize by bios.

So even if I use mtkflash, I do not have that option to flash the drive because it will not show up since it's not recognizable in bios.

There is no way I can use mtkflash, because bios will not see it.

BTW: A BAD FLASH DOES'NT MEAN A BRICK it just means you're to IGNORANT to find a solution to the problem..

This might work..

Download Pioneer 111D v123 firmware from Pioneer 111D  1.23 from the TDB http://tdb.rpc1.org/
This is the direct link http://forum.rpc1.org/dl_file.php?site=tdb...le=111D_123.ZIP

Exract the two files A0812001.123 & UPR111D.EXE . The file you will require is  A0812001.123, rename the extension .123 to bin, ie:A0812001.bin

Download MtkWinFlash 1.5.3.6
Extract from the zip file..
Click the MtkWinFlash.exe to launch program
Select IDE MODE
Click Launch IDE Mode
Set Target device
Source the bin file (A0812001.bin) , Browse to directory where you have saved the file..
Click the Flash drive  button..

Make sure you have selected the right drive..
Hopefully this will force flash the drive, restart your system..

Note: If your going to play with things, make sure you always have a backup, backup, backup & know how restore your backup..

hi all potential modders, better unplug all ide/sata devices from your pc mobo except your xbox360 drive before you do the flashing, that's exactly what the tutorial says.  (IMG:style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)

Try the hotswap method. Find another MTKFlash compatible drive. Use it to give u the option to flash. Then before u flash, swap with your brick pioneer drive. If it doesn't work, try swap + the badflash methond(10 sec trick) ...

What's with all this mis-information?!

Bad flash does not equal brick... bad flash equals bad flash.

Try hot-swapping with MTKFlash, as that program doesn't really care what's on the receiving end of a flash and you may be able to save it.
