Just to think, how will the Xbox read Dreamcast games since they are on GD-ROM discs? And since we can't backup Dreamcast games from a PC, how are you going to back them to CD-R (or DVD-R if possible)?

I can see a thread now: "I downloaded this game for Dreamcast & it won't run on the DC Emu....."

u can do it with broadband adapter i believe.

Yeah, luckily I kept most of the good games that were released on DC & got rid of the sucky ones. Just when I was about to sell them to my friend (who has bought my DC btw).... Now that the emu is coming out, hopefully I won't have to buy another DC and a BB Adapter, which is VERY hard to find these days

Chankast reads discs such as backups on CD-R....many of the DC games were way under 1 gig anyways.
And I'm betting it will be bin/cue to get the fastest read speed possible.

Yeah I was pretty impressed with the last released PC version.

Incredibly accurate for a new dc emu.

Coders cable works as well (Very slowly), you can make your own.

Chankast is actually very compatible as well as fast.

:: to the guy who said xport should port this, The devs who wrote the original are going to stand a much better chance of a decent port, they know the emulator inside out and they obviously know directx pretty damn good as well. Xport lacks this inside knowledge which is going to essential when doing a port of this type (Probably more important than knowing the xbox inside out.)

Oh and of course Garrofi has the source Xport doesn't.

ohmy.gif  Here's a question... Does SegaNet work? I never got online with my DC because I couldn't get a hold of a Broadband adapter and then the prices were ridiculous, but Net Play through an Xbox will be amazing!

what about VMU support... it is USB based is it not?

I'll have to checkout the PC version and dust off my coder cable  biggrin.gif

I do recon that the dream x 1.4GHz should be able to play quite a lot of dc games full speed though, don't forget speed optimisations are now in place smile.gif

discjuggler to the laymen, you can mount the disc through daemon tools for use with chankast although I hear newer version have problems with some discs.
3.44 works fine with everything I've thrown at it.

::twistedsymphony
VMU support is just a file ala emulated mempaks, psx memory cards etc.

I suspect it will be a while until we see the source (Not this side of the xmas). If anyone can port it it will be the devs of the emu and if they can't I doubt anyone will. be able to get the speed.
