So, i turn the computer on load up my floppy.
A: mtkflash r /m /sata orig.bin (also have just tried /m, just /sata)
then 3 seconds after i press enter i turn off the 360..
it shows up with:
1:NF4SAT2 Sec Master
2:NF4SAT2 Sec Slave

i turn on the console and press one.
then i just says flash type : "SST(SSTT25VF040)(Serial)"

I'm guess it's not detecting your drive. I have the same problem, but this looks promising.

Is it the first time you're flashing or already flashed with 4.x ? If you already flashed with 4.x you should use enable0800 disk.

(Important information bolded in quote)

The no-solder/bad-flash method for MS28 drives only works with VIA chipsets.  If you want to use your NF4 chipset to flash your drive, you're going to have to open it up and wire up a VCC switch.

Know what else I noticed the SST Chip is different.  Do you have the mtkflash.TYP file?

'My XBOX 360 SST is also SST(SSTT25VF040)(Serial)', its made in June 06.  Just flashed my MS28 with Xtreme 4.2a, all is working.  'TEXTBOOK' is correct u need VIA SATA chipset either onboard or PCI.  I used 6421A PC SATA PCI card.

MS28 and NForce Chipset dont work

that bottom wire does not look like it is connected.

You DO have each end of the wires connected to the pads the resistor was on right/?   those wires are not touching anything right?    you probably want to use a multimeter to figure that out.

Hi Guys
The detection of SST(SSTT25VF040)(Serial) is the default feature of mtkflash. Because if the SST39SF020 is locked out in some f/w versions like ms28, it must be SST(SSTT25VF040)(Serial). The Vcc or the data line trick is used to catch SST39SF020 in the access state before the lockout feature is activated!  If u do some research on xbox hacker there are a couple threads that touch on this subject.

DRIVE;MS28 h+W:005 06/06

When i attach startup the pc wait until dospromt
startup the xbox attach the sate or plug the satabefore starting up the xbox

I put my Switch ON

MTKFLASH r /m orig.bin

then i can see Pri Master SAta and Pri Slave SATa

I tryed them both but
always he hangs on READING 00%

I dont use the PCI sata but onbard sata but something says me it has nothing to do with that
because with the switch on or off i still have the PRI master Pri slave choice and still hangs on

Does anyone has a good method that it work becasue i am dying here :àà
