Has anyone heard of or had any experience with this method banning them on Xbox Live. As far as I understand, the Xbox 360 records an error log entry that it was started without the DVD SATA cable to the drive. Microsoft can then get this information and decide whether or not to ban the console for Live.

OK.......I've flashed many 360 DVD Roms and never experienced this!

ms28 Drive
SATA Chipset VIA 5337
Xtreme Bootmaker 5.3. RC3
USB Drive
Xtreme 1.4 latest

The dump goes well but when flashing the banks there's this error message

ERROR:this file is a mismatch aborting........or something similar to that.

It's fummy because all three of the first banks flash properly.  This error occurs when the 4th bank is being flashed.  If anyone has had this happen please post your solution to correcting this.  So I just flashed back to the orig and everything works fine as normal.

That post is from way back in 2006 and really dated.

iPrep will create all the files and custom mtkflash for you.

Help!

I'm so frustrated!! I've got ixtreme 1.4 on my xbox and I want to update. I've got the MS28 drive and I "hacked" it with no problems. But that was over a year ago.

I've read new tutorials on how to add 1.6 to the xbox. But when I use iPrep I get an error message when I try to format and make the USB stick bootable.

I've tryed the "Bootable USB stick bla bla " from xbins, but I get an "XMS driver is already installed" and then I just get a _ that blinks, I cant type anything..

Please please please point me in the right direction.
What is the best / easiest way to update my ms28 firmware to ixtreme 1.6?

I've got a nforce4 motherboard, But i've also got the VIA 6421 PCI card..

easiest way is with JF 1.66
follow tutorial on how to disable via card and remove drivers and to instal portio driver
i have same set up and have done all drives with this
u can get all firmware and JF off the place you said

Jungleflasher dosent detect my drive..
I've followed the guide, so it should show up, but it dosent!

I can play burnt games, like Mirrors Edge.

But when I insert Fifa10 (also burnt), it show up as a Mixed Media Disc. And if I press "A", nothing happens.. Does anybody know what's wrong?

I used CloneCD to burn it.
Should I connect the xbox to the internet and update it? It's been offline for many months..
