Mmmmm, wish I hadn't have just packed everything away.  I did use the Xtreme Boot Maker to mod the MTKFLASH files, maybe that's were I was going wrong...

Having same problem get status 51 should be 70 no matter what i do i get that or status 80 should be 70.

Have VIA Vt6421 tried to use the edited mtkflash and all it would detect the VIA card but if i used the the bootmaker mtkflash it would see xtreme. I disabled everything IDE, SATA. Nothing works. So I must be doing something wrong any ideas?

I only got status 80 should be 70 when I used my xecuter connect kit instead of my xbox 360 to power the drive.

Hello all..

For some reason my flash disk wont boot when I restart my computer.  I tried using the xtreme bootmaker, i tried of bunch of different tut's on the web and nothing.. And yes I have my bios telling it to boot first..

The good news is I'm able to boot using the Ultimate Boot Cd and using freedos.  When I'm in freedos it lets me select the USB drive at the prompt and everything seems OK.. Does it matter if I flash the Sammy using Freedos? Or does your 100% correct way to flash a ms28 need to be followed exactly?

thanks in advance

Do you think this motherboard with the VIA VT8237R onboard chipset will work with SAMSUNG MS28?

http://www.msi.com.t...ail.php?UID=690

I'm going to buy it to my server if this motherboard works with MS28.

edit:

Or this: Asus K8V-MX

Zoneout,
You command line should read mtkflash R /M /SATA orig.bin for an MS28

Alertnatively why not use extreme boot maker which does all this for you?

I've tried that /SATA but it still says drive not found, and I get an a0 error with Xtreme boot maker in mtkflash, I have a VIA VT6421 BTW, don't know why these are happening, I expected it to work

Zoneout:

Make a bootable then try using the edited mtkflash files from the link at the top of this topic.  only have those files on the floppy, usb, whatever.

1. turn on PC with floppy/usb connected then 360 which is also connected (use the sata port closest to the front of the PC: SATA1)
2. once the floppy loads, type: mtkflash r /m orig.bin
3. should give you a bunch of drives to choose from; TURN OFF THE 360
4. Choose the VIA
5. Now turn on the 360

should read no prob if you do it exactly.  I had the same prob as you and this was the only way it worked.

It didn't give me a choice of devices, with 360 off it has drive not found, and if on, an a0 error with esc to status=51 should be 70

well if you can't see the VIA card at the menu then something is preventing it from detecting in your bios

Its a dell Dimension 3000 PC with 3 PCI slots, Is there anything in the bios to find VIA card or find the culprit stopping the menu select? and it just goes straight to a0, no menu, XBOX 360 is on SATA Port 1 and the card is compatible as said on the front of the thread an VIA VT6421L version not an "A" or other. with the normal mtkflash the drive cannot be detected, no menu
