Flashed Hitachi 47dj To Brick?
« on: November 12, 2006, 08:43:00 AM »

Hey guys,

im totaly frustrated right now (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)
I wanted to take this day to update my FW from my Hitachi 47DJ from 1.3 to current 2.3 and connected everything as usual. (xecuter conn kit 1)

Drive letter appeared and i tried to do a "Restore" on my Drive.
He found it, patched sector 1 and 2 BUT THEN

at point #3 of 10 (Challenge respond) he HANG and didnt do anything at all anymore...

I paniced and didnt want to reboot and try it again, but nothing happend at all when i tried....

Then i rebooted several times cuz Windows didnt want to boot. But now im in Windows again and it STILL detects the drive letter, but when i now try again restore or flash, NOTHING happens again :/

He sais now "making backuo of your drive key" but freezes again at this position in the dos box...

So please guys, tell me what to do, or did a already brick it? Please hell noooooooo

Thanks for reading, please leave some lines..

(read the other topics, but this seems a to be another small prob) Screenshot will follow

Ok i think i have bricked it....

I edited the restore.bat so that it doesnt has to detect my drive (an crashes then) so i made it that it only matches my 47DJ and i still get lotsa errors.... So its dead?

Some flashing tries...

Tried to restore with my modded restore.bat.. but.. well

when i was upgrading from 2.1 to 2.3 i got the same error, tried doing a restore, got the first 2 as passes, then failed the next 8, then i just flashed with the 2.3 and everything was fine, played backups just the same as before. so just try a flash over the top of the old one, and connect the drive to the xbox to see if you have a brick.

Cant edit it somehow? Well...

Now i tried patching it back to original with the 1.1 version (OLD) from garyopa i guess.
The drive is found in windows, but doesnt respond to any commands it looks like, it cant be readed... (xecuter conn kit 1 in dev mode)

it tries and tries to read sectors or write them, i dont know but nothing goes..
heres a screenshot...

No read/write possible, but drive gets detected.. = brick? please noooo (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)

Sorry for spaming but i now connected the drive back to the 360 and the 360 boots fine but now does only read originals and no backups. K, looks like i could start over again new, but im not able to write into the rom of the drive and i dunno why... Like i said, xecuter conn kit in debug mode with and without open tray...

I had this prob with an hitachi too.  tried multi ways.  and as yourself didnt want to reboot when flash failed.
I ejected the disk to see if still worked. and lo and behold I left a disk in the drive.  removed this. ejected the tray and flashed fine. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

so make sure no disk in the drive on hitachi's when flashing.  or it fails at 0x300000 or somethin

im 100% sure that there was not a disk in the drive, ive tried more than 20 times with and without try open and always the same thing. i looks like somehow it doesnt want to get into modeb, but i use the xecuter con kit 1... oh well, hopfully my new drive will arrive 2morrow
