Hitachi Stuck In Mode B? Cannot Boot Into Windows
« on: November 09, 2006, 05:35:00 PM »

Okay, I flashed my hitachi 0046DG, using slax to put it in Mode B. I wanted to upgrade my firmware, so I bought a Xeno connectivity kit so I didn't have to use slax ne more. Put the drive in mode b, got into windows, it was detected. I used birdy's auto flasher before to flash it, so i tried restoring it with birdy's. I got a couple of errors I just clicked retry and it continued. I rebooted my pc,and now I can't get into windows with my hitachi connected, and the drive will no longer eject at all. I tried hooking it up back in my 360 and all the tray thing says is Opening, it won't open. And the 360 middle light is blinking fast. Please help. Thanks

I have the same problem, but what i did was stupid. I was patching the stealth thing on my drive and the 2 steps where you have to flash the new patched FW and have the numbers on the string, i mixed them up. Im in the same boat, everything was going soo well. I really need help.

from the info i have gotten, it seems like in my case i corrupted the firmware. So right now im looking for a way to recover to the origional firmware i had or anything else to make it work. When i boot the 360 it comes up with an error E64. I havent found out what that means yet but im sure its somewhere along the line of im screwed....

Well i found my problem:
- On the flasher routines (flash.bat) remember that you must flash
sectors 90005000 and then 90033000 in that order, never flash the
second sector before flashing sucessfully the first one or you will
KILL the read routine and brick the drive (no more windows detection)

So now what are my options?? Im really pissed at myself for being a dam retarded noob... I think i should stick to normal xbox's.

your only option at the moment is either purchase another drive (you MUST have original firmware for the dvd key)   replace dvd key in new dvd drive and you are off and running...

OR

you can send the messed up drive out to someone like Stusy or swaytech.com or .net(same person??)
and they can remove your chip and read with a external programmer and reprogram chip and put back in dvd drive and that SHOULD fix it.

You are in refrence to this
Chilli Modchip revovery chip - FOR HITACHI'S

This might work??   but is it being sold anywhere?

this might very well be an option... maybe you can email them and ask.. then return with the results here.
That would be cool.

well it seems it is being sold somewhere... the forums are working.. you can probably find all the info you need there.
