Mainboard is a asus a7n8x deluxe
I boot using a usb pendrive. Hp Format tool...

I'v tried reading the firmware "mtkflash r /m orig.bin" and "mtkflash r orig.bin"
(I'v also tried "mtkflash r /SATA orig.bin" but then it just stops at 00% reading)


it find my drive, i choose pri master.
port: 170, Master/Slave: a0

Flash Type : "SST(SST39LV/VF040) (+3,3V)"

it reads...

Reading.....Finished! DataSum D00E, OPCSum    0

So i do.

When i then try to modify the orig.bin file to the "Xtreme firmware 4.2A and 4.2B for TS-H943 Xbox 360"
using X360SAM i get this error message:

orig.bin is not 256K in length - aborting!

My file is 512kb

is it that i use a wrog version of the mtkflash, for the x360sam?

Your orig.bin should be 256kb. Are you sure your backing up the correct drive? I would recheck your doing the right drive first.

Only have the sammy hooked up when reading the orig.bin with mtkflash...I bet you grabbed the wrong fw

when i unhoocked all the other drives, and trid to make a firmware backup, i got this message:

Sil3112 do not support IDE flash
abnormal program termination

i was probably flashing the wrong drive...

So now what, doesnt my mainboard support flashing?

I'v been reading some more, it doesnt work...

I also got a MSI K8N NEO3, i can't get it to work there either, thoug it should be compatible(using tne nf4 mtkflash)
