I agree, these MS28's are a nightmare to flash...I got mine to work once, and I was not looking forward to having to do it again.  But I just did it about 30mins ago, and it worked fine.  So I say go for it, and report back if it worked.  It should, seeing as it worked for me...

Yep, works fine. smile.gif

MS28's aren't all that hard to flash, for me atleast. It's a much larger pain in the ass opening the 360. >_<

pretty sure 71 is HDD. Take off the HDD and boot it and see what happens. Don't know why that could have happened though.

Im not definate about this but i think you would be able to dump the firmware thats on there now and retreive your key from it and inject into another ORIG.bin from someone elses drive providing its the same make/model and firmware and voila you have yourself an orig.bin should you need to reflash after err66. If im wrong im wrong sorry.

i would do it before you do the update personally and get yourself an orig.bin sorted out. Its always nice to have one just in case.

Yes, you can dump your current modded firmware and put the key in an original firmware.

The problem is getting an original firmware.  Not even the sites that walk the legal line and offer modded firmware downloads offer those.

Maybe ask the person you bought the 360 from if he has your original.

OOPS sorry  ph34r.gif
Not a problem, I can certainly see where one would wonder whether the original firmware is against the rules.
