i had some idea why it got that error
if you said it only happen on ms28 only
since ms25 and ms28 has the same hardware
so i think it is because of that x360sam that cause the problem
it's not the x360sam it self that cause the problem
but because it copy these address $4000-$43FF
so maybe there are different within these address that make ms25 and ms28 different

so i think ms can detect it from those address

since ms25 user dont have this e66 problem

i guess if you copy just only key from ms28 to fresh ms25 firmware (just key not whole $4000-$43FF) with kdx 1.5
and then use x360sam to combine with xtreme4.2 then flash it
it might resolve the problem

but it's all a guess

for ms28 user please try it and post the result

I've a MS25 With 4.1b (Not Updated with the new Dashboard)

I read on the Xtreme's NFO and the Version 4 of Xtreme's Firmare, is based on MS28 Firm... It's any chance to get this error on a MS25 With a 4.1?

I did his ms28 by manually hex editing his key like I do with ms25. I have a ms25 but not got the balls to do this update. I like to see more confirmations from other m25 users that it works 100% before I attempt this update.

Has anyone with a bricked drive tried flashing back to original firmware by recovery method that is available on sammy drives?

I have an ms25 samsung with xtreme3.2 and all went fine.

I think the ms28 is causing the problems.

I wonder if people with a non modded f/w 28 are getting this error.

i think theres a conflict with the firmware of the flashed ms28's and the update. i dont think theyre gettin banned. the 360 is telling them the dvd-drive is not working correctly
flashing it back to original should fix the problem

I know this ie a newb question but, i have a launch day 360 (hitachi drive), flashed. I  had it flashed for me. how do you know if you have a ms25 or ms 28 ?

when youre drive is produced in may or later it can be a ms28, see the sticker at the back of youre xbox 360
you have to open it to make sure imo
and offcourse it has to be a sammy in the first place

Thanks for the quick response.
Is this really a hardware failure??? WOW !!! That really sucks, at least microsoft told the guy above that they would replace.
