Seems like a common problem to me, anyone else had the same problem, maybe we could stick a post somewhere with the things people have done to fix this!

I had the same problem earlier today I switched to a different sata port and switched of any programs that I had running in the taskbar and everything worked then.
Also I would suggest that if you have any pc drives that are made by hitachi to disconnect these as well.

Connected PC and 360.
Used Slax Method to get into modeB.
Ran: C:> flash22s.bat E 1571.
Promted me that 100% complete.

Succesfully Upgraded FW.  Dos Prompt stated 100% completion.  So what next?

Nope so far I am having same trouble with V46

EDIT: I was able to fix my problem, only problem is Im not sure what fixed it but I will post exactly what I did.

I first went into control panel>Administrative Tools>Disk Management>found the DVD drive and Changed the letter. (I checked it and it was not conflicting with any other drive letter but I decided to change it anyway)

Second thing I did was, went into device manager, highlighted the correct DVD Drive, hit properties, Volumes>then clicked populate. Hit ok and tried reflashing. Worked first time after about 20 failures. Hope it helps someone else.

This sounds very familiar to my problem.I am using d connectivity kit to get my drive into mode b,when i boot windows it sometimes comes up in my computer as a cd drive and assigns it d letter (d),yet i cannot flash to it (drive not recognised error).I also have a 47dj rom. Also when i put a cd into the drive and click on d drive in "my computer" it comes up blank, yet i can hear d drive spinning.

Put program in the root directory ie. C:\     It worked fine for me once I did that.

yep, if the path is too long it won't run the files in the .bat. Just put it in the root of the C: and you should see positive results.
