Sorry to ask two silly questions, I just want to be 100% sure before I flash. I have a Hitachi v59DJ, will this work fine with my drive? Also for the flashing procedure I would do the following:

1. With the pc off connect the xecuter kit to the drive and the sata cable from my pc to the drive also (I've got a via addon card  VT6421A, onboard SIL 3112 and an addon SIL 3112. I assume any one of these will be fine?)

2. Have the debug button down and the eject button up.

3. Power up the pc and make sure the drive is dectected in windows and given a drive letter.

4. Open a cmd prompt and type FLASH23S.BAT <drive letter> <unique 4 digit number to save files to>

5. Let the flash finish then put the drive back in the xbox and test

Is this correct?

Thanks

Also, for your information, the 110 pisses all over the 111

Not true, to many users reporting problems with 110
Apparently the drive was rushed out and has many flaws (hence pioneer 111 released shortly after)
I have 2 x pioneer A09 XL and would never swap for 110.

Yes
I have same drive , i flashed with xp in safe mode , you will have no problems as long as windows see's the drive.
What i done to be sure was to right click on the drive in windows and select "eject" so the hitachi opens, then i flashed with the tray open.
When done flashing push the tray back in and power off pc.
You dont need the tray open but this is how i done 3 hitachi's without fail.

you mean 59 dj right not 58

no, I meant 58DJ not 59...

does the v2.3 have the revised .bats already in the package? I'm thinking that's why it won't load originals with the v2.2 firm?!

According to Flash78, even though most people won't be affected by it, there is a minor mistake in this pack. The firmware file 40_26.BIN should be named 40_23.BIN

Hi all,

quick question because i am a noob on the 360 scene.

My Box that i got today has a hitachi dvd reader, i remeber that befor it needed to be firmware 047... to be flashed..

But in the nfo of this firware release it says..  * ALL NEW XTREME V2.3 FIRMWARE FOR ALL BUILDS OF THE HITACHI DRIVES

So that means it will work on any Hitachi drive ?? Can someone confirm if possible.. and please is there a tuturial on flashing hitachi drives ?
or is it the same for the samsung i found here http://sickmods.net/shared-directories/dea...firmware-flash/

Thanks for the help

Just tested on a 59, no probs

however WaSiN is correct, there is an error in FWPACK 40_26.BIN should be 40_23.bin

Get a Pioneer 111D like everyone else, NEC burners can't burn working 360 games.

All of my backups were burned with the NEC3520A.  I used 3 different types of media:  Verbatim, Memorex, Ridata.  All of them work flawlessly on my 360 (w Samsung drive).  They have worked ever since the version 1.0 of the Xtreme firmware.

Great going EA, now people with the firmware hack will only download your games instead of buying them. Why not try to do something that stops copying of them instead of not playing the originals? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)

Yap, please stick to the main point. This is the most important issue cos if it doesn't then there is no point upgrading for those running 2.2 ...

Any feedback?

Maybe EA thinks using a hacked firmware is wrong to begin with?
Just a quick question, can I use mtkflash to flash a drive with one of these, the bats look a little too automatic to me (IMG:style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)

CAN SOMEONE PLEASE TEST THE ORIGINAL TIGER WOODS 2007 ON THIS DRIVE?
After all, that's the only reason 2.3 is here!

No.  MTKFLASH is for the Samsung drives, it won't work with Hitachis.
