DMA on this drive is always off and I don't know why. Does anyone else have these problems or is this a "feature"?

I have set it up as slave drive and the master driver on the same IDE channel is my NEC-2510 burner.

EDIT: I don't know if the problems is Kreon firmware related or not.

2 things to try.

1 is uninstall that ide channel and reboot (let it reinstall)

2, put them on seperate ide channels. thats the way mine is and i've never had any problem.

I've got one in my PC (wanted a new reader and it was pointless getting anything else!), Secondary Master with no slave (burner's on Primary Master, HDDs are on a different controller). All running happily in UDMA mode.

This is on Windows 2000 mind, as I won't have XP in the house, let alone on my PC.

That one helped. Kinda weird as I have never had problems with optical slave drives and DMA
