it is more than likely that M$ will never put out a patch to disable a person's 360...

how many consoles do you think have been patched with DVD firmware???

How many consoles does M$ plan on having sold by end of this year?? wasn't the
10 million number thrown out there earlier this year??

I think the plan is M$ will just rollout consoles that have tamper proof firmware.

Those that have the first run of 360 with the Samsung and Hitachi will be the
ones to envy in months to come...

So... this will only fix a faulty flash?

I guess it cant get the key from a bricked drive caused by the two wire method?

I have two borken hitachi drivers, this is awsome, I am going to buy one as soon as its out. this is awesome news. jester.gif

1 Question?

it says "Works for all flashable Hitachi drives 32 to 59", will it work for 46d or 47d. Those are the two drive types I have.

If you bricked your dvd drive doing the 2 wire trick then you are still shit out of luck because that messes up other hardware on the drive...This looks to be intended for those whose drive got messed up using Birdy's or even GaryOpAs and something went wrong during the flash.

Uhhh...if you lose your key, your 360 is garbage.  The drive won't work if it doesn't have the key, this chip simply fixes the checksums of the firmware so you will be able to recover a bad flash, it does not bypass the key.

Whats really ironic here is all you anti modchip guys now wanting to buy a mod chip because you weren't going to get ripped off buying a modchip in the first place. I have no doubt this will be a good seller.  laugh.gif

Good work chilliflash.

Good work chilliflash.

Or.....you could use it to easily recover bricked drives.  Probably less than 1% of people actually bricked their drives.  So lets do the math....spend $50 on a chip (plus install if you can't solder), or chance the 1% (of which would be the same price as the modchip) and do it for free (or $10 if you don't have a SATA card).

Ow come on  grr.gif ,

Howto: FIX my firmware

1. Detach the DATA cable, wait till windows boots up.
2. Reattach data cable
3. Flash drive

You can do this like forever!  laugh.gif

Sincerely,

I bet you can, and still won't accomplish anything.  If the firmware is bad/corrupt and windows can't detect it then it doesn' matter how many times you try your trick it still  won't work.

I e-mailed them and ask the same question. Their reply was:
