I tried using KDX just to see if i had a valid backup firmware. It says 'unknown' for both. I looked at the readme and it doesnt say it supports ms28. I hope thats the problem. If i post the lines from the hex edit could you tell me?

its not formatted right, but thats what i have from 4000 to 41f0

ive been reading posts and @ 20b0 it says [...TSSTcorpDVD-ROM TS-H943Ams28

so i'm guessing its a good dump?

im not gonna attempt to flash it until i know for sure

I used xtreme bootmaker 2.10

When i read it i typed in 'samread xxxxxxx xxxxx' and got the 3 choices.
I turned off my xbox.
Choose the right one.
Got this 'Port:bc00, Master/Slave:a0'
waited 10 seconds
turned on
it started flashing and says 'Flash Type: "SST(SST395F020)"
It runs through 0%-99% 5 times until it hits 100%.
Then it says
'Reading....Finished! DataSumF225 OPCSum 0

is this usual? i watched the video tutorial and it looked different. And it didnt run through it 5 times.

look at the filesize

if it's 256 KB (262,144 bytes)

then you're golden

write u're serial # on the drive its self or the console with a permanent marker it will always be there!
