Flashed My 47 with no problems, I did the restore from 2.1 before I flashed the 2.2.

I do have a question though. I rip with a samsung 162c , Krone v.080, XBC 2.0.0.1
I Burn with a Pioneer 111D (latest firmware), Verbatim, IMGburn.

When I was using Xtremev2.1
Out of the ten disk I burned, 2 give me the open tray. (tried the eject trick also)
I reburned one of them right away and it worked on the new disk.

I flashed 2.2 and retried these "open tray"disks, No luck, still "open tray"

Do you you think the problem was bad Media (these 2 verbatims were bad from the factory) Or a bad burn from the Pioneer? I have not played with my POT on the Hitachi and would prefer not to as I reburned a disk and it worked. Just curious if anyone else gets bad burns once in a while.

Also I have gotten a good burn on a FUJIFILM DVD+R. and could read it on V2.1 and V2.2

OK an update:

This is getting really weird, i've restored my original firmware with Gary's previous 2.1 and it started up ok (no hard drive attached) and i put in my original tiger 06 disk in. now i switched on the 360 with my media remote everthing went great, tiger boots up normally, now soon as i press the start button on the wireless controller to bind and switch the controller on, the 360 beeps and locks up. Now i get the 3 reds lights on restart.

Very weird...... more testing to be done.

Another update:

I know nobody really cares about my problem as everyone seems to be getting on ok with this new firmware, but i think it may be usefull to carry on updating with my probs just in case someone else has the same problems.

Well its taken me ages and multiple restores and flashs and more restores, and my last restore with gary2.1 seemed to have fixed it and the 360 booted normally. I tried my Testdrive original and that loaded into my house no problem, but then i tried to go out on the road and it locks up, requiring a power cycle.

I reboot and the 360 boots normally rather than having the 3 reds, (which i've been fighting with for a couple of hours) I then decide to try tiger woods 06 again (original again) and that loads into the menu system no problem. Ok so i decide to play a round, the loading bar goes all the way across the screen and i show up on the Tee. I just hear the first bit of sound from the commentary and it locks up again.

FFS this is really doing my head in now, so i'll give it a rest today and start all over again tomorrow. One things for sure though i'm sticking to the last version of the firmware for now.

p.s. the wireless controller lock up problem i mentioned in an earlier post has gone altogether now, so it wasn't anything to do with that.

Yes.
Media stealth = responds with the exact same information that an original pressed disc would when the 360 interogates the drive.

Firmware stealth = returns the same drive firmware and/or checksums if the 360 interogates it.
Currently the Toshiba-Samsung Xtreme-v3 firmwares have both forms of stealth, whilst the Hitachi-LG Xtreme-v2 firmwares only have firmware stealth.
So we are all patiently awaiting GaryOPA's Hitachi media stealth feature :-)

Uumm ok what did I miss?   when or where has samsung have BOTH stealth media and stealth firmware?

I thought they ONLY had stealth media?

Can anyone please tell me if this has flashed my drive at all? I'm a bit nervous turning it off so it's on until I get a straight answer  unsure.gif

You haven't left a disc in the drive have you?

Nope, although I got the drive working in windows by unplugging it and replugging it in so that windows would boot (in mode b of course).

It did backup the bios fine, Hopefully it didnt flash anything.

EDIT: Got it working!  Just disabled and re-enabled the drive in device manager and attempted reflashing and it was all completed successfully biggrin.gif

*runs off to test backups*

Your problems really don't seem to be related to the drive at all IMHO. Any type of bad data sent from the DVD drive would give a CRC error and prompt your 360 to give a dirty disc error. To me it sounds like you may have cause some form of physical damage (ESD or possibly damaged a Cap or resistor) when you went through the process of opening and closing the case.

Well blow me down, 1 hour later i returned to the 360 to just see if it would play my originals again, and sure enough i've just spent the last 20mins or so playing testdrive. God knows whats going on but it seems to be ok now. Stupid bloody computers  biggrin.gif

Think i'll wait for gary's proper V3 before playing with the firm again ph34r.gif
