Need To Replace Dvd Drive In Xbox 360

First off what drive do you have?

1. if it is samsung and you do NOT have the drive key.. then good luck.. you will want to search for brick samsung restore proceedures... this may not work anyway.
if you have the dvd drive key.. then buy another dvd drive ANY DVD DRIVE YOU WANT
I would stick with samsungs as they are easier to flash in my opinion less risk on bricking.
and go along with the normal flashing process of samsung dvd's you can find the tutorials at the top of this forum under the LINK - GUIDES TO FLASHING


2. if your bricked drive is a hitachi YOU MUST HAVE THE DVD DRIVE KEY!!
If you do not do not go any further your 360 is a paper weight as of right now.

If you DO have the drive key.. buy another dvd drive DOES NOT MATTER WHAT DRIVE.. I would stick to samsung..as mentioned above..
and again go along with normal flashing proceedures.

yeah, it really comes down to whether or not you have the key.

if you dont have the key, just for the hell of it, try to hook it up and MTKFLASH it and back teh original firmware up.
