Help With Hitachi 0059dj
« on: October 05, 2006, 06:05:00 PM »

Hello everyone:
I searched through the forum but I could not find any answers so I'm hoping someone could help me with the following issue

I was flashing my friend hitachi drive 59DJ and ran into the followin problem:

it goes through the flashing process just fine but when it goes to "Checking the flashed version" the following message is returned:

Fail: Flashing is not completed
System will now Redo the Flashing
Process will continue until done!
Press any key to continue...

I press enter and the same message appears.  Press enter again....does the flashing process but upon verifying the same message displays.

I still have the drive hooked up to my PC and would like to know everyones input before unplugging it.

I have flashed the 46 and 49 just fine.

I'm using the OPA-Xtreme-Hitachi-7IN1-v2_1...

thanks in advance.

Ah, cool. It's good to know I made a good decision in waiting. I am hearing of a few people getting the 59DJ to work, but rarely do people state what month it was born. I was tempted a few times to keep trying but then thought better of it. Im not in a huge rush or anything, I have a few games to hold me over, but im dyin to check out NHL07! I played the demo and it's pretty crazy lookin. So is Prey.. the demo for that was amazing.  (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

If you are not using a 64bit Windows, you can add the following two lines to your batch file
and you will be able to verify that the flash has worked fine.

Look for the label :PASS5X then add the following two lines:

chop now.bin 256000
chop mod.bin 256000

Just before the compare QFC line, so the complete section will look like this:

QUOTE

@echo.
@echo Checking FLASHed version...
@echo.
memdump %1 12200 8 8000 now.bin
copy now.bin X21-%2.OPA\now.bin /v /y > nul
patch a now.bin xtrmDK.ppf > nul
qfc now.bin was.bin > nul
if errorlevel 1 goto PASS5X
goto NOGO
:PASS5X

chop now.bin 256000
chop mod.bin 256000

qfc now.bin mod.bin > nul
if errorlevel 1 goto REDO5X
@echo.
@echo PASS: Flashing of XTREME firmware is 100
@echo.
@echo DONE: You can now shut-down your system!
@echo.
goto END

Man, I am searching everywhere for Garys most recent release and I cant find it anywhere. Googling just turns up hundreds of articles and the readme notes, just no files. I dont have usenet this month and im sure its on there. My damn giganews ran out and I need to mail them a money order, cc card lost (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)

Why can't usenet be free!

As of now I have Birdy, and no offence what-so-ever to Birdy, but im a bit sketched with all that I have read.

Anyway, maybe I can pick it up from GaryOPA, wanna drive to the falls? lol j/k

if you need the files let me know and i will direct you to the right place. as for the 59DJ not being flashable... that is absolutely false.

if you want help doing it let me know and i will gladly help. i received help from some people and i confirm it is working on my own 360. the process is no different. the only problem you will run into is that after you flash with GaryOPA it will loop through the process indefinitely. this doesnt mean its not working. my 59DJ is JUNE. so u can definitely do the JUNE ones. pretty sure you can do any 59DJ.

email me at [email protected] and i can give you a quick response on how to do it. i dont know about recovering bricked drives and stuff since it hasnt happened to me. but as for taking a brand new 59dj and flashing it i can easily explain the process. i did plenty of reading and got advice from very smart people.

warning: DO NOT USE birdy or whatever. its bad news. garyopa is essentially perfect. it will not brick your drive unless you somehow turn it off right in the middle of the last process after all precautions (written by gary) have been taken. hope to hear from some of you soon (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

ive used opa's formaware on a june 2006 drive, had same problem as original post, backups still booted but sometimes the drive would read backups and sometimes not.  also during gameplay the games would freeze.
Modifying the flash21 file helped, I reflashed the drive with the modified bat file and success all games backups boot first time and no more freezing

thanks to Gary again

I'm very confused about v59dj .It seems that OPA-XTREME-HITACHI-7IN1-V2_1 works on 59dj but what about birdy? Does Birdy_Hitachi-LG_friendly_Flasher_v2.2_with_Xtreme_v1.3_and_2.0 mediacheck2_FIXED work on 59dj or not? does it still need to be fixed for 59dj or not ?
That's very much confusing.I want bitsetting and mediacheck that's why i prefer birdy.
