No Open Tray Error But Read Disk Errors Only On Some Games?
« on: September 27, 2006, 09:17:00 PM »

All right.

I flashed the 1.0 firmware on my Toshiba-Samsung drive about two months ago.  Everything ran mostly without a hitch.  About 2 weeks ago.  I began to get dirty disk errors on Madden 07.  Even before this, Madden did run  a bit bumpily with interitternt slowdown issues.  I then updated the firmware to 3.3 and played a full game of Madden, but only got through one complete game successfully. All games will boot, but a majority freeze after a very short time of playing i.e. before the first snap.  However, Perfect Dark and Burnout still boot and play as long as I play for.  I burn all games on verbatim media and I have a NEC 3520 burner I believe it is and my roomate has a Liteon model.  Games burned from either drive give the same result.  Also, all games are scene releases, not ones we rip ourselves so that isnt an issue.  I'm not sure what to do, is the POT calibration our only real option?  Also, one of our friends brought a Madden 07 original over today, and we played three games flawlessly, so it appears originals are still in working order.  Any help is appreciated, as I'm considering just getting another 360, but dont want to if its just going to stop working after 2 months like it seems a lot of peoples are. Ughhhh
