omg i cant believe there is a true real working dreamcast emu for pc.

i was just playing metropolis street racer and street fighter 3 and soul caliber!!!!  holy cow!

man tell me someone is working on a xbox port of this ass kickin emu.!

Hell yeah... we all own originals of all our ROMs/ISOs.

chankast is not open source and it needs more power then the xbox has anyways.....BONG!

In short terms, there will never be a DreamCast emulator on Xbox. Like nagmine, I will stick to my MVC2, PowerStone, and Virtua On on my actual DreamCast.

And if you're going to ask the weird question "What if it was opened source?", the xbox is not powerful enough. You need a processor speed of well over 1ghz to play it on good terms.

I actually own all my games for DreamCast  :P . Thats true.

I wouldn't use the 'xbox isn't powerfull enough' reson without being certain... The authors did say they have a lot of games working well on a 733mhz computer - so theoretically the xbox should be ok with the games.
HOWEVER it isn't open source so nothing will happen till it becomes open source  :)

and i did use the search,, spelled it chainkast  and it came back with ZERO.

opensource has absolutely NOTHING to do with it coming to xbox or not.
how many of the things that are on the xbox are truly opensource.  not much cuz most of it is stolen code ??  now go back to your corner.

frankly there is no reason why the xbox couldnt do this emu .

the dc only had 16 megs of ram.  xbox has 64.
dc has a MUCH lesser video system,, and sound system.
xbox has a CPU and VPU for power   DC only had VPU system.


everysingle thing that is on the xbox now  people said couldnt be done.

"oh that will never happen. windows will never run,, oh that will never happen we will never have a web browser, oh that will never happen, we will never make the xbox a full mediacenter,, oh that will never happen those mame roms are too big they wont play on the xbox, oh we will never have a PSX emulator that will never happen..

now go back to your hole.

over 1000 posts and i ask such stupid questions.   yeah real stupid , it was a question of, "does anyone know if anyone is working on a port  for this". and obviously you guys have no clue if anyone is working on one, so,

You need the source code of any project to have it ported.  All the current xbox ports were only made possible because the source code is available.  The author of the DC EMU has not opened his source code so you cannot possibly port it to the xbox without it.

Second, go read the requirements chainkast has.

a 2ghz CPU - now, the last time I checked the xbox had 733 and not nearly enough ram.  Emulation takes a lot more than what the DC had
