I have a Pioneer 111 DVD Writer its NOT the D version which AUTO SETS book type to DVD ROM. Its the superdrive that does DVD-RAM.
It has version 1.23 factory installed and when writing on a VERBATIM at 2x using the PIONEER (see I have read the forum (IMG:
style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) ) it does not seem to finalise the disk. Using DVD Info Pro its says the book type is

I have gone to the Dangerous Brothers website but its not working (IMG:
style_emoticons/default/sad.gif) So I then find there is a 1.29 firmware on the pioneer site. It does not say whether it wil set book-type with this firmware but is it worth trying it? Bearing in mind, I have read that I cant go BACKWARD once upgrading the drive?
Alternatively, is there any other links for the 111 firmware anywhere
